Darth Caesium, 15 Aug 2024The Huawei Mate 20 X says hello to you with a 7.2" scr... moreDo notice the fact that I've specified "modern smartphones", which in my context, does not include any phone prior to the pandemic.
I'd rather classify the Mate 20 X as a "semi-modern" smartphone, as I've completely omitted any officially available phone beyond 3 years of age in my original comment. If the Mate 20 X is considered a modern smartphone, then my Nokia 8 can also be considered a modern smartphone in the same context.
At the same time, my comment considers the virtual size of the display, not physical dimensions. The examples you've considered have curved displays in the first place, hence their displays should appear smaller than the expected width. Same with the zero errors with measurements regarding length, and inaccuracies in specifications.

Ab, 15 Aug 20246s Gen 3 is rebranded SD695 (:Yes my bro. I'd rather have an underclocked 6 Gen 1 as 6s Gen 3 or 7 Gen 3 rather than having overclocked & overcooked 695 which is actually overclocked of 685 which is actually overclocking of 665=>662=>680. The naming of 695 should be 688 & 6s Gen 3 should be 688+.

Konrad Lorenz, 15 Aug 2024There are already devices out there with 10.000 mah batteries...There is even 20000 mah
But none of them are sil -carbon variety that these new waves of 6500 mah are coming with
So those 10000mah are much heavier and takes up way more volume

At the max it should be around 10% increase, so I am guessing around 220g, as the Vivo v40 series is around 192g. Still a good bargain for customers as the overall battery lifespan/endurance is surely going to last longer than usual.

Minu, 15 Aug 2024Not really, as most modern phones translate to 5.2 inches i... moreThe Huawei Mate 20 X says hello to you with a 7.2" screen. Definitely a bigger phone than a 16:9 6.0" screen.
To be fair, the 16:9 Sony Xperia Z Ultra was even bigger, with a 6.4" screen that gave it a 92mm width and a 179mm height, but that's an exception that's a needle in a haystack.
Also, the 6.8" 19.5:9 S24 Ultra's 79mm width beats the 5.5" 16:9 iPhone 8 Plus's 78.1mm width, and that's a device I found that not only matches the criteria, but also has some chonky bezels as well.

IpsDisplay, 15 Aug 2024It's a good year for smartphone batteries
It'... moreI hope they're replacing the dated Li-Ion and Li-Po battery technologies with more sustainable solutions. That would make more sense than squeezing larger capacities on slimmer phones.
Li-Ion batteries swell beyond the usage period, while Li-Po batteries tend to force restart their host devices after the average usage period.

6 inches in 16:9 is yet to be beaten by modern smartphones, let alone the typical 5.5 inch 16:9 form factor.
