Hardware Hypervisor, 16 Aug 2024Lol you think Epic release exclusives without the consent o... moreLol, still regurgitating the same old "Steam ripoff fee" while ignoring that it's not even that high and that developers can sell keys bypassing Steam entirely if they want, giving Valve 0% fee. Also Steam despite few issues it has isn't terrible like Epic Launcher is and has far better infrastructure and backend. Stop drinking Tim Sweeney's koolaid.

Devs releases exclusives on Epic because of much lower fee compared to Steam's Apple-esque predatory fee. If possible, they would just abandon Steam altogether but they can't due to its popularity.

SShock, 15 Aug 2024That makes no sense at all. If anything, it tells them dumb... moreIt makes perfect sense, but you don't get it. If many people don't buy the game when it's available on other stores, the developer will probably think that it's a good deal to get a considerable amount of money from making the game timed exclusive because the game doesn't sell well. On the other hand, if the game sells very well when it's available on other stores, the developer may think that it's unnecessary and maybe even unwise to make the game timed exclusive. Not buying the game at all simply tells that you aren't interested in that game enough to buy it. How could the developer know that you don't buy it because it was an exclusive game? What you think doesn't make any sense.

If Epic really wants to reach gamers, they need to stop pushing stupid exclusives. Bunch of games were Epic exclusives by contract and they appeared 1 year later elsewhere because of that. Metro Exodus and Dead Island 2 specifically got on my nerves and while they both launched on Steam now, I almost haven't bought either out of spite. Because I hate this crap being pulled on consumers.
