Alternative App like Signal Foundation or Threema GmbH looks more serious than this.

AnonD-1167077, 15 Aug 2024Does anyone still use WhatsApp? Most of my friends here in NZ are using Signal after we all started trying to use Meta apps less. My international friends use WhatsApp so I still use it occasionally for messaging them.

for those whining about "telegram did it first" nope it was wechat and fb messenger that did it first telegram followed but since 2022 most of the theming features are behind paywall
