Meaning more creases, we need to stop UTG and start developing real 0.5mm thick flexible glass.

Is it not a double fold device?
          I'm asking for a friend.

Exactly it will launch with Mate series at September and maybe it will called Mate X6 Pro

I still don't get the appeal of folding phones that are guaranteed to break easily.

Do you think that Huawei is going to try and take over the mid/budget segments in China by supplying chips to the other chinese manufacturers? "Pull a Mediatek" sort of speak? I mean once they've sorted out production, that is.

After they've transitioned from 7 to 5nm, and so on, they'll have these previous gen domestic process nodes freed up to supply lower cost chips while moving the bleeding edge stuff onto the next expensive node.

September is just around the corner. He's getting familiar with the device before the launch. Wonder if they will launch the new Mate series at the same time?

Just really to showcase the new tech and only meant for Huawei supporters in China. Despite Huawei's processors being way behind Qualcomm or Mediatek they are actually more expensive to make given the high r&d costs and low yield so it's inevitable that their phones will be expensive. People who want cost competitiveness won't buy their flagship devices. It's impossible for Huawei to compete with other Chinese brands on costs as the other brands have no restrictions and don't have anywhere near the same r&d spend
