Anonymous, 22 Aug 2024You can put in a larger camera sensor size, and it's s... moreas if Sony is the master of processing. Just use Pro mode and you get 90% of the way there. The 1 VI feels more like a Poco F6 than a Sony. Trying to overcompensate for smaller size with more processing.
A larger sensor can always allow you to take better photos in Pro mode due to less noise and more light intake. What kind of argument are you even going for? In what world is a 1/3.5" sensor better than a 1/2" one in terms of native zoom?

It's not hard to find phones using bigger camera sensor but not producing great photos because of the subpar software processing.

Another wannabe iphone with a huge uselessness on the back. This people can't make their own design even if they try. And please don't come with, where, who, what, at me, or oh this is price performance better bla bla bla. To take the iphlone design and slapp a toilette seat on the back, does not mean design, nor innovation. And put some SoC together with some storage on a mainboard, is also not design nor innovation. Price per hardwware works only for the "me too" wannabe techie, not for serious users, just sayin'.

Anonymous, 21 Aug 2024Let's see who else have variable zoom periscope teleph... moreClassic strawman argument. You should get into politics you're gonna be successful.
I never said ANYTHING about the variable zoom, I said there's a bigger sensor on the Oneplus. Tell me what even is the point of variable zoom, it's supposed to allow one to get closer to a subject right? Well other phones can do the same as well. Tell me, why do you use cameras? Do you use them to take photos or to see what tech they use?
All that matters in photography is if you have fun and if you like the results. The results of the Oneplus 12 are going to be nearly always superior in a fixed native zoom. Then when talking about "max recommended zoom" like 6x for OP12 and 7.1x for the Xperia, both are gonna be neck and neck and the Oneplus is likely to pull ahead at night because of its larger sensor. If Sony had a 1/2" sensor and used the variable zoom tech they'd have made a revolutionary product. They'd have put others to shame in zoom range and you could've then used 2x cropping on a 48-64 MP sensor to get essentially the best zoom range of any phone. They didn't do that. What are you being so smug about?
Go take some RAW photos on a Oneplus and you'll be happy with the results, I'd argue that you'd be just as happy with it as you'd be on a Sony if you're an amateur. If you're an enthusiast the Sony's metering might be more to your taste and the best thing Sony has for it is Videography capabilities. But again, the phone has poor sensor sizes. They're gonna be horrible at middling to dark conditions. So videography is only great for the main cam and good on the zoom cams if you're willing to put up with lots of noise and then the argument that Sony is the best at videography won't stand.
I'm just trying to contextualize Sony and say that there's good and bad to it just like Oneplus. I find it funny that you didn't find it offensive that I didn't use a Vivo X100 Ultra or a Find X7 Ultra to compare to Sony, I used a "budget flagship" like the Oneplus 12. I'd have been mad about it if I were a Sony fan. Yet you use random arguments to "win" and prove nothing in reality.
Explain to me why Sony is so good due to the variable zoom and I'll change my mind. Defending Sony's poor practices won't get us anywhere, they're just gonna think they should continue becoming mainstream and doing random stuff. Variable zoom is meaningless when competitors can essentially provide better quality zoom. Besides, everyone just uses the same few dials that's available in the software and 90% of the time people use Auto mode so digital zoom is viable as well.

Not all flagships produce artifacts. The telephoto lens's definition of only 12 MP does not allow you to zoom far effectively.

Anonymous, 21 Aug 2024Yeah, boe screen, no exmor t , no zoom camera and awful UI ... more>Awful UI
same can be said of the Sony
>Exmor T
As if that matters. Thinking Exmor T is better is the same as saying an OLED using META from LG is better than MLA. It doesn't matter. It's same.
>BOE screen
A screen isn't bad because of its manufacturer but rather because of its calibration. Sony is the master of calibration on TVs but is just the same as everyone else on Android. Look at Notebookcheck and Displaymate. What's bad about a BOE screen anyway? Brightness is good enough, display is sharp, contrast is the same as any other OLED and motion is awesome like other OLEDs. The only thing one can complain about is the curve. You just want to hate for the sake of hating OR you just want to justify your purchase of your Sony phone. One can identify the flaws AND like the device, pointing out random things in other phones and saying they are flaws is something a politician would do. Get out of Twitter and start talking to real people and form real conversations. If you need to vilify the opposing side to make a point you're not mentally mature yet.
