Weekly poll results: the Pixel 9 Pro can be a breakout hit, but the whole series is too expensive

25 August 2024
Surprisingly, the Pixel 9 Pro got the most positive votes - the small flagship is a new addition this year, slotting in between the vanilla model and the larger Pro.

android brands give no competition to iphone pro series for many years except samsung and xiaomi. that is why every single new alternative is genuine like pixel 9 pro.

Every single time, every single Pixel, Google does something that scares people away.

First 4 pixels had all hardware issues at launch. Pixel 5 was a midrange at most.

6 had overheating issues and poor performance. 7 is facing dead screen issues after a year or so. 8 is more of the same issues as 6 & 9 will have high prices on top of it.

The two times where they had a winning formula (Pixel 3 & Pixel 7), they drop it or make it worse in the next gen.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2024128GB internal storage on flagship smartphones without micr... moreI totally second this. I don't install many apps or mobile games, but the internal storage keeps growing because of regular app updates. Things got more tense when you put everything (documents, offline Spotify music, offline YouTube/Netflix video, console emulation files, etc.) inside the internal storage. Luckily, I managed to offload pretty much all of it on my two-year-old Kingston 512GB microSD card that I bought for $40 back then and still works fine today.

The interest has reached the target, so there are only a few changes. The quality will look like a flagship when the Pixel 12 Pro XL is released in 2027, with tensor 7 equivalent to 8 gen 3 antutu 3,000,000, 5500mAh battery, 65 watts charging, 64mp camera, this will look like the best Oneplus 12 king in 2023, this is with a note Pixel sheds the influence of Samsung, but if it doesn't change, it just follows the too ordinary style of the Samsung S24 Ultra.

I hope Google people come out of this smartphone making madness and completely pulls out of smartphone business.
Smartphone making is not Google's cup of tea.

"Google has more or less covered all the markets that are interested in a Pixel phone"

Which, judging by sales, is no one? 😂
Google bust be harvesting a ton of data from the very few people buying these iPixels and using them as guinea-pigs for something else, 'cause otherwise there's no reason why the company insists on releasing hardware no one in the real world (ie. outside tech blogs) is interesting in buying.

128GB internal storage on flagship smartphones without microSD card slot should be permanently dead by now. Google could priced the 256GB internal storage at the same price as 128GB internal storage to be seriously competitive.

price is too high of all pixel 9 models but wait some time and price drops quickly because pixel prices always drop fast

Pixel phones are still flops overall.
They barely sell week outside the US and even there their market share dropped. Misty people don't even but the premium Pixel, it's mostly the "a" model.

Their trade-in deals outside the US are laughable.
In my country, they value an S23 Ultra at 300€...
