If you care about photography, why don't you use manual settings in Sony's camera app instead of letting AI do the heavy lifting?

If anything, it's Samsung that gets more expensive than Sony. As for software support, most people still don't care about having seven years of software support, especially those who buy phones through carriers and keep returning them every year or two. Also, from my experience with UX, Sony is more stable and way less bloated than Samsung.

You really say that 3 years of updates is low? Especially when we talk about midrangers like Edge 50 Pro or Xperia 10 VI.

The best big phone on the market is Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 5G (non-US version). It has all the essential phone functionality, such as, phone calls, SMS, dual SIM (micro SIM + eSIM), microSD, and fingerprint. It has even S-Pen, programmable extra button, physical navigation keys and long software support. Also the screen is enough big (8 inches), while still having a chance to fit to pocket (if you choose clothing well).

Sony phones are overpriced and never really offer full value in terms of software support
