Mystique, 26 Aug 2024I yearn for the day that flagship phone's comes with e... moreWhy do you need external storage on a flagship device? MicroSD technology is much slower than UFS 3 and 4 to the point where high-performance tasks like gaming or saving high-resolution video would be an extremely degraded experience or just impossible. How much expansion do you want on a device with say 256Gb of storage? Searching through a 256gb SD card is soon slow. In comparison to a budget device with emmc or older UFS it may be tolerable but completely unnecessary on a flagship. Just buy a 512gb or 1tb model and call it a day.

I yearn for the day that flagship phone's comes with external memory support again some day if ever.

The Reno 11F and Reno 12/12 Pro were disappointing particularly the international versions.

I really hope the Ultra comes to Europe, otherwise I don't know what my next phone will be. The Find X7 Ultra already had me convinced, but no way was I gonna import it. Shaping up to be the potential best phone of 2025, they just gotta release it globally.

The dual tone back leather design is remaining right?

Ouifuf, 23 Aug 2024The fact there are way more leaks for the base 8 and the pr... moreThey're releasing sooner than the Ultra, it's nothing important. We also knew the camera specs of xiaomi 15/pro before the Ultra and we know the Ultra is coming to global markets

jerem06, 22 Aug 2024Rumor has it that it would be a 200mm f2.8 with a Sony Lyti... moreThat is just a made up rumor. It was said that the Ultra will get a larger sensor (probably lyt600) and only maybe a slightly longer focal length at 7-8x max. So yeah, no chance of 10x with a larger sensor and much less on the Pro which will be a step down from the Ultra

I hope the 3x periscope lens is using Samsung's HP9 or (if there is one) an improved version of it, rather than the usual 50MP IMX766 derivatives - X100 Ultra proved that mature demosaicing + post-processing algorithms allow you to extract far more details than what lens' diffraction limit or the Tetra2pixel subpixel structure would otherwise suggest. An improved macro/close-up capability would be a big plus, too.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2024Why wish impossible thing? Oppo was not even capable of... moreYeah because Sony has shown us that optical zoom on a phone is a bad idea lmao.

Tiny sensor, awful distorted bokeh, noisy image, soft optics and oversharpening to compensate for it, Xperia's tele lens is such a mess. A good prime lens is better than a bad optical zoom lens.

The fact there are way more leaks for the base 8 and the pro makes me think that it's only going to be those 2 in EU this year...

Oppo was not even capable of using the 80-200mm.
It has been 3 years since it was showcased.
                        Lack of competence.

Even Asus had zoom lens back in 2015. But chinese phones nothing so far.

namzap, 22 Aug 2024even the base model is 6.7 its getting bigger every yearThe base model was 6.78" last year so 6.7" would be slightly smaller. However, this rumor is probably incorrect. Much more likely to be 6.5 or 6.6". It will definitely be smaller than the find x7

Anonymous, 22 Aug 2024No software support after 2 years is a no buy. In this case, this offers more than that. Were you born yesterday, by any chance?

Finally after 8 generations they woke up and realised curved screens are useless after all.

Also, Samsung had a larger sensor than 1/4". The S22 Ultra onwards have 1/3.52" and the S21 Ultra had 1/3.24" sensors. If Samsung did it back in 2021, Oppo can surely get a larger one.

Idk what you are arguing against, I did question the rumor in my second para. Like what are you on about are you a schizo? lol

DCS rumor... moreRumor has it that it would be a 200mm f2.8 with a Sony Lytia-500 sensor of 1/2.93" size. With certainly a cropping to reach x10. I would have preferred an IMX858 1/2.51" but it must have been too big to fit in the smartphone
