Minu, 27 Aug 2024Nice! How does the G6 hold up for you, btw?If the hardware still worked like it did on Day 1, it would be a viable competitor to this day. Sadly, in addition to battery degradation, it also suffers from an overheating issue and temporary screen retention (only temporary, it's an LCD). Really a shame because it's been a forced downgrade with the Pixels in some ways. The LG stock camera was trash, but the early Gcam mods made it quite competitive (IIRC the G6 used the same sensor as the OG Pixels). The other major shafting was that the US models only came with 32GB of storage, but that was back in the days when you could just add a microSD card.

I've upgraded twice (Pixel 4a 5G, then 8 Pro). On the other hand, I did get the bootloader unlocked on my LG before they cut it off, so I still have that going for it.

There are acceptable compromises with the phone such as the lack of wireless charging (due to the aluminium unibody), the lack of FM Radio and stiff buttons and ports compared to the mushy plastic buttons and loose ports on my earlier phone (Galaxy J3) and almost all ODM slabs today.
The battery shows its age, but exceptional for a 7-year-old phone with no repairs or services done till date. The lack of security updates isn't that much of a dealbreaker, as there are newer phones with cumulative updates but not security patches. I also use the latest, most stable versions of apps on my phone. Google Play Protect hasn't abandoned this phone yet, so there's that.

For example i have only one phone bought from my carrier on a network carrier plan lasting 2 years, When i pay my phone in july 2025 will sell my old phone with box and a charger so will have no chargers in home and will have to buy a new phone with charger included in box or if not have to buy one separately.
Since my last phone bought is Motorola edge 40 pro which came with 125W chargeer i use only this charger and will sell this phone with this charger.
I am dare to keep my charger and sell a phone without it nobody would buy.
And when i will buy new phone it will be definitely something with a charger in box also case screen protector etc if possible.
Love to have complete package and hate if seller or phone manufacturer dont give anything with its phone.
Accident happens so i want to have my phone fully protected from day one.

New year litterary same devices only with 16 in name as difference.
Few mAhs here and there 48 mpix for all iphones, maybe bit faster charging speeds but thats it.
