I wonder why carriers have been given so much power there to trap consumers in the Apple/Samsung bubble.

I seriously want LG to be back in the game, It's sad LG and HTC are not making high-end phones

iH8allFanboys, 27 Aug 2024Where did you get that impression that I have a problem wit... moreno no no, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to attack you I was just asking and I wanted to clear things up about what I think by using those comparisons.

And I should've worded that sentence better. So basically I meant Motorola is a company that's NEITHER Chinese NOR greedy. So the guy I replied to said "a hypothetical partnership shouldn't just be locked to Chinaphones.". He wanted to see other options and I gave him other options. By greedy companies I meant Samsung, Apple and Google who are either too greedy to partner up with LG for a feature that audiences will like OR they'll charge a huge premium for it. And I looked into non-Chinese phones cus that guy said I shouldn't just think of a partnership with only Chinese phones. Again, I didn't mean any harm I was just confused. Hope this clears things up with you.

I don’t at all and actually enjoy the competition between the Chinese phone manufacturers as they are way more interesting than whatever is going with Samsung, Google, Apple and most definitely Sony.

In fact, I should be asking YOU that question as you said and quote: “ Only Motorola comes to mind when I think of a non-Chinese non-greedy company. If you've got other suggestions i'm interested in hearing them”

Anonymous, 27 Aug 2024Lol plus versions are miles better than tiny and ultra versions.you do you buddy but is there any particular reason why it's better than even Ultra phones? apart from the only thing that comes to my mind which is comfort. Design can also sway someone's opinion but to make you hate the phone? That's weird.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2024Motorola is owned by Lenovo. I don't like the curved ... moreThat's just one factor. Just because there's curved displays doesn't make the phone bad, it's just not your preference. Are the phones horrible in terms of value? At least where I live, no, they're at worst the same value as a Samsung equivalent and at best on par with a Xiaomi equivalent.

Is there anything wrong with Motorola being owned by a Chinese company?

iH8allFanboys, 27 Aug 2024I hate to break it to you…Motorola is owned by Lenovo and L... moreI have no problems with that, I like Motorola cus of their more global reach than let's say ZTE.

And besides, Land Rover is owned by Tata, is it an Indian company now? Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen, is it a German company now? I'd argue Lamborghini are better than ever. And Land Rover cars are considered more luxurious/socially cooler than they've ever been. I don't care about who owns who, it's all about what they do with it. For example just because Google owns so much of the software online didn't mean their own android version was gonna be good with their first Tensor phone, the Pixel 6.

Do you have a problem with Chinese phones? I was just trying to point out other things that came to my mind for the other guy as suggestions.

NOVA-NATION, 26 Aug 2024A petition to bring back LG phones🗣️🗣️🗣️I couldn't agree more. The more I look at LG's final two years of smartphones, the more I realise that LG isn't afraid to try something different. Even the Dual Screen case and Wing 5G still turn more heads than foldable phones when I always bring them around. It's a shame they didn't market their great smartphones as aggressively as Samsung, Apple, and Google. Of course, there are popular sellouts on YouTube who always treat less popular brands like LG as some joke (I'm looking at you, MKBHD and Mrwhosetheboss), but they can always avoid them and focus on those who take them seriously. Sony did it with Mk5 Xperia 1 and it worked.

And this is why LG is the GOAT and wish they came back. My very first phone was a LG flip phone 😭😭😭

Phones with better hardware just become heavier, can't beat physics sadly haha

your first flagship is always the one you have the most fun with/the one you love the most imo, have fun with it!

OnePlus is heavier though and I'm not of the mindset "heavier=premium". I may go OnePlus for my next phone after a few years.

Updates nowadays don&#... moreong bruh the S24+ (the plus series in general since the S20) is just the definition of mediocrity to me. They're not as small as the base phones so they don't get the pass for having smaller cams, they don't look as distinct as the main Ultras and in a lot of countries they come with exynos chips. For ~300 dollars less it'd be appealing but I just think the Oneplus phone is superior overall. The only reason I'd go for Samsung is if I liked the software.

jiyen235, 26 Aug 2024well there ya go we exhausted all the good options. And HTC... moreIt's honestly just the updates. Updates nowadays don't mean much like they used to back then but if you're going to offer updates at least deliver them in a timely manner.

I also forgot OnePlus is an option here (somehow). I considered the OP12 earlier this year but went with S24+.

Azu10157, 26 Aug 2024Unfortunately I don't got any suggestions. Since I liv... morewell there ya go we exhausted all the good options. And HTC ain't even a mid option, it's a BAD option. After the HTC One M9 I haven't seen any good phones, all are just mid or worse.

And you should look into Oneplus if you're in the US. And if you're ok with importing just import one from any company.

btw why don't you like Motorola? I like their experimental aspect and the fact that they don't have really poor value (the bar is quite low lol). I just wish they had updates as fast as Samsung cus their skin isn't necessarily feature packed compared to others to justify slower updates.

jiyen235, 26 Aug 2024I know but Nothing's phones are cheap so they aren... moreUnfortunately I don't got any suggestions. Since I live in America I'm stuck to the big three, and I don't like Motorola. *Maybe* HTC, but that's a huge maybe and I don't even know if they still sell in America.
