Why do you feel the need to defend a product? It's cheap crap. No gamer wants a dimensity 7300 E which is probably identical to normal and ultra versions. 16gb ram will soon be the standard.. You talk about it like it's something special. It's yet another trashy midrange.

Just from 1 minute of googling, I found a refurbished iPhone 11 for 21500 RS and a refurbished iPhone 12 mini for 25000 RS. And if you like Android, a refurbished Pixel 6 is 23000 RS and a Galaxy S21 is 22500 RS.

As if everyone could afford those expensive iPhones of yours! Many people don’t want to waste their much money on just a phone. That’s why those in the lower-middle class end up with cheap phones that contribute to electronic waste, simply because they’re more affordable, regardless of how poor their durability is. Phones like these give everyone a chance to own a device. It’s a lot better than the situation from 2009 to 2019, so stop your high-and-mighty delusions and grow up a bit.

David 040882, 29 Aug 2024I really can't tell if you're being ironic or not. In my estimation, the leaders in electronic waste are companies such as Oppo, Vivo, Redmi, Poco, and Samsung. These brands together account for two-thirds of the global phone market, catering to consumers who pay little heed to the durability of their devices and are enticed each year by promotions from influencers. It appears quite difficult to break this cycle of electronic waste in either the near or distant future. What we might endeavor to do is to advocate for campaigns that restrict the production of electronic waste, thereby placing greater emphasis on the enhancement of quality. However, this approach may result in higher production costs for phones than previously observed.

Indeed, I concur wholeheartedly. The frequent introduction of new models does seem to aggravate the problem of electronic waste. I also believe that if we were to extend the lifespan of our devices, it might compel manufacturers to place greater emphasis on the durability and sustainability of their products. Furthermore, supporting brands that are committed to environmental stewardship could be highly beneficial. Perhaps we could begin by disseminating information on proper device maintenance and recycling practices. Such measures might serve as an excellent starting point for enacting meaningful change

It’s so funny watching them talk about how they’re trying to target young people with these phones. As an actual young person, we don’t care about what midrange MediaTek chip is in our phones, but we do care more about how our purchases affect the world. Remember when thousands of kids on TikTok quit vaping because of the human rights abuses involved in mining the materials used to make vapes? A lot of those materials are in phones too. And Realme benefits from e-waste by constantly releasing new phones and getting people to upgrade when the phone that they already have is less than a year old. Imagine if we started a similar trend, but this time about getting people to keep their phones for longer. Maybe Realme would start listening and stop making phones that aren’t meant to last.

Also, to all of the people who buy a budget phone and keep it for longer than most people keep their flagship phones, keep slaying and screw these evil companies that try (and fail) to get you to waste money.
