This is definitely not an easily repairable phone.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2024Yet some people out there claiming that seven years of soft... moreA non repairable phone with extended support that I can actually buy is better than a repairable phone that can't be bought.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2024Yet some people out there claiming that seven years of soft... moreAlso, don't forget that Fairphone is the OG of long software support in Android land. Just look at how long the FP2 got official support. Even FP3 and FP3+ are still being officially supported today.

Dharmesh, 29 Aug 2024why cant they get rod of the camera island hum on the back?... moreBecause Google binge watched Futurama right before designing this phone and said...."....hehe Bender looks so cool, what if we made our phone to look like his head!" And voila! We get a phone with camera island that looks like Bender from Futurama!

Yet some people out there claiming that seven years of software support is a "pros". I would trust such a claim if the phone is made and build like Fairphone.

Well, it is better design than 8 series, at least charging port is modular now. As for battery, heatgun + isopropyl + suction cup would solve this in no time.

why cant they get rod of the camera island hum on the back? this looks so ugly if you dont use the back cover. Every other company has almost no hump on the back then why Google. this is s strict no go for me.

Garbage photo quality, garbage performance and garbage repairability, a really expensive Google garbage!

they copied Apple so hard they actually surpassed them in terms of greed. They made it harder to replace than an iPhone lmao pretty sure Google thinks that's a W. Sell people phones with the promise of 7 years of updates, phone's battery becomes mush in 3 years and trying to replace is actually so tough you might as well buy a new one.

I was considering Pixels this year, but nope. I keep my phones for a minimum of 5 years and this makes for an even stronger case against pixels due to their lack of official support and distribution in the middle east.

I'm going to be honest though, I personally like phones that are hard to open from the back more than ones that are supposedly easy to open from the front. Breaking the display when just opening the phone is a terrible possibility, so at least that's good with this Pixel (as far as I remember, you needed to open some Pixel generations from the front).
