It’s surprising that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, being the most premium model, lacks support for the Pixel Stand 1 and 2 due to the charging coil's alignment. This seems like a big oversight, especially considering that other Pixel models have faster wireless charging capabilities with the Stand 2. Hopefully, future updates or accessories can address this limitation.

Well... at least it can charge AT ALL. Some devices have been crippled to the point that nothing works with them, even when they're supposed to. It's unusual nowadays, but it still happens.

notafanboy, 31 Aug 2024You're a lost cause. Go watch The Acolyte on Disney+.Knowing how to criticize every manufacturer and not just one particular = lost cause, apparently.
Samsung was a pile of hot garbage in the 2010s, with overpriced hardware, cheap materials and atrocious software. Their flagships were innovative but would be rendered unsupported after 2 years if not less. Now people are putting on rose tinted glasses and saying omg they were so good 10 years ago" when TouchWiz was a literal punchline. A terrible Samsung midranger made me go Apple, then Xiaomi, then Huawei (P30 Pro, best phone I've ever owned), only giving Samsung another shot 7 years after my last one. Can't speak that much on OPPO since last one I've used extensibly was a Find X5 Pro that was actually pretty good.
Their foldables still have the UTG cancer and feel somewhat chunky. Feels almost like they prioritized the Flips because of sales and left the folds aside. Saying they did nothing in 4 years is, once again, hypocritical tho.
The S24U backpedaled the zoom capabilities and gets owned by the Vivo X100 series where they used to be leaders. The titanium frame was unnecessary since the S23U was light enough and the aluminum actually felt better.
A series below the A35 are pretty much hopeless.
OneUI has clunky opening and closing animations, although 6.1.1 seems promising in fixing those and 7 will be a whole different animal
Need me to criticize the company more?
It's just annoying to see all the criticism going to one company, while, for example, Huawei's ludicrous pricing, Honor's atrocious software support, OnePlus' increasing bloat in a system that was renown for being bloat free (plus, reliability problems. A very close friend is on the second motherboard on his OP10Pro and it's still an overheating, battery draining mess), Xiaomi's increasing use of cheap materials on everything except their flagship series, barely get a slap on the wrist..
Plus, subpar phones like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold are getting "better than the fold series" shouts as if the chipset inside wasn't almost swallowed by 7 series snapdragons.

notafanboy, 31 Aug 2024Samsung has been such an innovator in the smartphone indust... moreMaybe they should bring some massive innovations from china like a plastic frame on a high-end device like the Xiaomi 13T series. True innovation.
Now seriously. Y'all need to show the same energy to a Chinese manufacturer when they screw up, or sit doing nothing, as you do to Samsung, otherwise it's just hypocritical. Xiaomi gets away with 90% of things they do.
BBK gets praised to the heights like they do no wrong.
Meanwhile Samsung is a criminal company that should be banned from the mobile market according to the talking heads on GSMArena comment sections and Tech Twitter.

PoweredbyCrapAI, 30 Aug 2024Pixel 9 Pro Fold is a joke. This! The cameras actually became worse than before in exchange for becoming 2mm thinner, while still not being as thin as Honor's V3 and yet still having worse cameras than it. The hinge is still really thick, and despite being 77mm in width, the phone only has a 6.34" display thanks to the thick bezels and hinge.
And yet, go look on the r/GooglePixel subreddit, and people there seem to be celebrating this nonsense of a phone. In fact, I got downvoted there for saying that this phone is a huge disappointment. Suffice to say, if Google continues to stagnate like this, I will likely switch over to either Vivo or Oppo once I've owned this Pixel 7 Pro for at least 3 years.
