No cheap phone can be found with a small screen

Every brand gets hated on for basically existing but Xiaomi somehow gets away scot-free with selling a device with a plastic frame at this end of the market

Are these significantly better than the 13T Pro, especially camera wise? I'm curious if the telephoto makes a big difference on higher zoom levels. I've been putting off buying the 13T Pro to see the specs of the new version but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference.

CamoGeko-XDA, 31 Aug 2024€899 for the 14T Pro? Get out of here with that price. ... moreLaunch price of the Xiaomi 14 ultra was €1,499 though. It's on sale now in Germany for example for €1,299. Buying newly launched phones though is rarely the best value (unless they have some great launch deal with freebies) . Manufacturers are not going to set launch prices according to deals available for existing phones. They always set them relative to launch prices for other phones. The Xiaomi 14 launched at €999 for example so the launch price of the Xiaomi 14t pro is still lower than that. If you want a good deal it's usually better to go for a deal on an older model. Xiaomi branded phones in Europe though are always on the expensive side at launch these days. In the past they used to offer high price to performance but now that is reserved for their sub-brands Poco and Redmi. Even in China though they used to be always cheaper than Vivo or Oppo but now all of the Chines brands are priced around the same in China. Oppo's find x7 ultra was actually a good bit cheaper than the Xiaomi 14 ultra this year whilst the Vivo x100 ultra was the same price.

Eric20, 30 Aug 2024What is wrong with 8300? The GPU and ISP are better than wh... moreLast year, Civi 3 which was announced arround May use D8200 and 13T was announced in September use the same SoC. That's okay because:
                    1. Civi 3 is not available globally.
                    2. The release gap between them is not far (the SoC is still quite fresh)

But take a look at Poco X6 Pro and 14T:
                    1. X6 Pro is alrady available on global market (yes it has plastic body and worse camera, but the price is also much cheaper). So people will compare them.
                    2. X6 Pro was released in Januari 2024. It is so far. Considering the SoC price itself, D8300 on Januari is definitely pricier than now. It should using D8400. But if D8400 is not ready on market on September, Xiaomi should put different SoC so people can't compare it to "old" X6 Pro. Maybe put SD 7+ Gen 3 for example. It has faster CPU (but less GPU) but it's suitable for 7.8 mm thin thickness on 14T. D8300 is quite hot because it has quite powerful GPU. Xiaomi T series are more camera oriented than gaming while Poco are the opposite. So, SD 7+ Gen 3 is more suitable than D8300 on 14T.

Xiaomi hasn't done anything about the battery!!!

€899 for the 14T Pro? Get out of here with that price.

You can already buy the 14 Ultra for that amount.

Why is it always that cheaper option has a larger screen? Is it more difficult (read: expensive) to fit everything in a smaller package, so only flagships have a screen size around 6.1"?

Other so called discounts are selling the phones in average market price while have the tag next to the price that discounted for 200 euro and while you add that 200 euro on that price then you see a number the phone never come out in first week even as high price it be

All this discount is actually fraud that is allowed to do to confuse the buyers to buy product.

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2024What is the point to buy the 14T pro for about 900€ when no... moreDon't worry, there will be 200 Euros discounts right from the start. MSRPs are always exaggerated in Europe so buyers get impressed by the humongous discount percentages.

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2024So the pro version will be more expensive than vivo x100 pr... moreIt isn't. Except you are comparing Chinese MSRP with European MSRP, which obviously doesn't make any sense. These are European prices. European MSRPs are higher because a) they include taxes other than Chinese or US MSRPs. b) they are imported goods so always more expensive. c) additional costs like certificates and patents hence higher prices.

What is the point to buy the 14T pro for about 900€ when now you can buy the 14 ultra on sale for about 1000€, or the 14 for 700€.
I guess Xiaomi will sell them if not they will not make them, but I have no idea why a customer should choose one of the 14T and not the 14, or 14 ultra
