Sony have had a lot of great reasons to buy their phones that are mostly unique to them over the years. I bought my 1 IV because of the 21:9, holeless display, the design of it, the headphone jack on a high end phone (not including the garishly designed gaming phones) and the toolless sim card tray. It was unique and I loved it. All of these were more or less unique to Sony in the high end so could be considered "signature features" in their own right.
And I never said Sony should copy other companies lmao. They do their own thing and I respect it. As I've said to everyone else. I didn't like the button and didn't use it. End of discussion. Idk why everyone is jumping up and down acting like I want Sony to stop selling phones or something lol

I don't doubt your experience, but if you gonna discredit Sony's signature feature, I rather you discredited them for not including any accessories whatsoever inside the box since Mark IV that's more polarising within tech communities than its camera button that has been staying since Sony Ericsson's days. That feature is currently Sony's longest staying feature. And are you implying Sony should copied other Android manufacturers without any consideration because you think camera button is useless? If that so, I rather switched to Apple for good as they will incorporate the camera button that I use daily starting with iP16. Xperia already losing many its signature feature such as notification LED on its way, so let's not remove more.
And now you just made remember the option double tap power button to launch camera, which I've not done since a long time, as I prefer Xperia 1 II's camera button, and yes, I programmed the button directly to Photo Pro, not the normal camera one. It feels natural to take just like my proper camera.

Full press to take photo.
No need to take screen space with on-screen button.
Also you can set button to full press unlock screen and take photo, that happens in less than 1s.

I'm waiting for oppo find x8 pro/ultra in Switzerland or EU.
I have still oppo find x3 pro with security updates until beginning of 2025, I hope so.
I don't understand, why on the global oppo find x with the colorOS android auto and google pay (should!) not work. On the Oneplus smartphones with the OxygenOS, close to the colorOS, it is possible.

Oh the processor leaked, oh the design leaked, oh the display leaked, oh the new software features leaked, oh the design leaked again, oh the phone prices leaked etc. It was too cringe to see this when Realme 10 was gonna launch.

For me, that button is very useful when I need to take a photo quickly, especially when I got a habit of photography with a lot of buttons. On-screen camera button only do the thing for me in certain cases where the real button cannot do at all. It's not perfect, but without it, I don't feel like taking real photograph considering I have a dedicated camera. And before you ask, yes I owned 7 Xperias from 2014 that has camera button to back my claim ( as well 1 Xiaomi midranger and 1 Apple iPhone).
