This could also be attributed to the smaller bezels on the Pixel though.

6.3 inches aren't far off from 6.8 inches due to the tall displays, which feels negligible in comparison to the difference between a 5.5 inch display and a 5.3 inch display in the 16:9 ratio.

This phone would make sense, as the Vivo X70 Pro hasn't had a viable successor in terms of ergonomics imho.

I hope there will be more compact phones on the markt.

depending on the price, this could be an excellent choice

Id trade my non-used S24U for this any day.

This is the first time I feel hyped for a phone release in years, a compact phone with an anyway big battery, a good chipset and
                            and possibly 64MP periscope anyway?

I have waited for such thing since like 2020.

I don't even need a flagship chipset, everything around the Snap 8+gen1 is absolutely fine to me already.

Now we only need to wait the price and if it released in Europe.

Hope a X200 Ultra gets a UK release

Darth Caesium, 03 Sep 2024Meh. There's some key problems with this: •It shoul... moreThe display looks really nice, Pixel 8-esque and I respect that a lot. The only problem I have is the fact that not only are the sides flat, the design is eerily similar to iPhones. The design seems to be like the pixel, which itself was like the iPhone. If the camera bump were swapped it'd look like any other Apple clone.

There are 3 ways of fixing it, make the corners sharp like the Nord 4, make the sides super curved like in the old days or the one I think would be the best of both worlds, make it slightly curved like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Even Apple is getting away from the completely flat sides, this type of design looks like a sad attempt at cloning Apple's design language from the 12-14 series. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro follow a similar trick, curving the absolute sides, it's just that Xiaomi's one is more extreme. Either way, both are better than whatever these guys are doing here.

Anyways, I think Ultrasonic scanners aren't possible on a Dimensity phone, I mean think about it have you seen a Dimensity phone with that scanner? That's my only theory cus Exynos, and in effect, the Tensor as well, also have Ultrasonic scanners (S22 Ultra and Pixel 9 for example). And even if they do cram one I hope it's the huge one from the X80 Pro, that was the best scanner of all time bar none.

Finally I think the compromise is well worth it for the battery. More battery is always better, even if it's at the expense of faster charging. Remember this is a smaller phone so it has less space to dissipate the heat, so I think it's only fair they "downgrade" the charging. And remember the fact that the X100 Ultra had 80 W, this having "only" 90W is astonishing to me if you think about it. Besides, keep in mind that the wattage is only a standard and doesn't result in actually faster charging. Most of the times the wattage peak doesn't even reach the number when measured, I saw a vid on the X100 Ultra from a chinese tech tuber, it hit like 67W, so I think it's rated for 80W but at the end of the day it's the optimization done by the company that changes stuff. An example of this can be seen in the X100 Pro and Oneplus 12's charging speeds, look at the battery percentages at different timings on this site.

The chinese vid I was talking about :

From what's being reported in China I think it's likely the x200 pro mini that will have the flat 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display. There will be 3 dimensity 9400 models this year the x200, x200 pro and a mini version with a flat screen

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024That’s a very big battery for the size. It's bigger than one in s24 ultra and they use higher density batteries now. We could very well see laptop levels of battery in phones with solid state batteries

Meh. There's some key problems with this:

•It should have curved edges (but keep the flat screen). This is not only ergonomically superior, Vivo's design language has always been curved. It makes no sense to go for this generic Apple flat design look, it will just make their phones all look roughly the same as an iPhone.
•The fingerprint sensor MUST be ultrasonic, everyone's doing this at this price point, and Vivo has always used ultrasonic fingerprint sensors for its flagships. Hell, they even are planning to use them on cheaper phones, so why does this phone not get it?
•The battery should at least have 100W wired charging. It feels disingenuous already to downgrade it from 120W, but 100W is very close in speeds to 120W anyway, so at least that wouldn't feel so bad.

Otherwise, I'm not complaining. Pretty healthy upgrade for the most part. 5,600/5,700mAh for a phone with a 6.3" screen surrounded by slim, symmetrical bezels (and thus, low width and height)? Sign me up!
