Anonymous, 04 Sep 2024Also, Cat went out of business because they went bankrupt Just to be clear here the Catapillar mobile phone division went bankrupt NOT the mining equipment manufacturer & solutions provider.

Those open-pit mine Off HWY Trucks had cost $20 Million a year to LEASE back in 2012 for Mauritania! I know this because i not only saw the requisition request, I specifically was tasked to skip 1 level director and corporate office back then as that director was on leave and unreachable. I also know the Executive of Projects for that 2nd largest gold mining company whom eventually had to approve it. Yes I was an employee back then.

Just to give you a sense of how MASSIVE these things are:

I don't know of ANY other company that specializes in these equipments globally - and they're NOT CHEAP! So Catepillar the main mining company is NOT bankrupt by any means lol.

Mobile division for sure and I think that was a partnership possibly?

NEED PERFECTION, 04 Sep 2024OLED on a rugged phone doesnt sound like a good ideaWell its under hardened glass like most smartphones over the past decade. Its not going to be touchable for the user right?

        Nice additions.
OLED for the 28. 9300+ Dimensity chip. Rear mini display. About time Ulefone stepped up with one. Making the battery removable/replaceable would have been the icing on the cake.
The mini 20T is great but a little less heft would have been better. Reminds me of the Unihertz tank mini.

I don't know why these manufacturers insist on pencil width 20:9 / 21:9 displays! I have a Sony XZ2 and the 18:9 is already too narrow. The 4.7" size would have been perfect with a standard aspect ratio or even something crazy like a 3:2 display.

It is exclusively B-list brands keeping small phones alive, I just wish they did it properly.

Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra looks interesting on paper, except I don't want it to be THAT thick and can live with half of that battery and slower charging. But I want a removable battery. And don't need an extra screen on the back. And I'd want good software (android open source project is fine for my needs, just pure android with long-term support).

But it'll probably also cost as much as a used car, so I'll pass. Too much flagship for poor me.

                No stereo speakers...geez...SO close...

If that speaker is loud enough, this makes for a SOLID backup phone.

That compact phone is shocking. I know that Dimensity chipset would scare some but in the words of Goku: "NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!"

F***** hell Ulefone is not playing around. You got to admire them. They went all in with 10 year anniversary out of their comfort zone, literally the best rugged phone ever made, with flagship chipset, flagship camera, plenty amount of RAM and champion battery, just wow.

I am kind of liking this phone?

It is really all in one rugged pack!!

Will this be available in India or Nepal??

James.D, 04 Sep 2024no, there are regular non rugged phones with the 9300+.Yeah my bad, forgot about the iQOO neo 9s Pro

I'm really surprised they got the imx989 in there. Cameras are usually just an afterthought for them, aside from some gimmicky "night vision" or thermal cams

They don't even have to just advertise it as the first rugged phone with 9300+ - they can already advertise it as the world's first phone with that.

OLED on a rugged phone doesnt sound like a good idea

I wonder if I double up that Mini as portable hotspot since it has two nano SIM slots, not sure how long will the battery last...
