Google Pixel 9a to use Tensor G4 chipset but downgraded modem

03 September 2024
It will apparently use an older, less efficient modem because it's cheaper.

          It's a phone that can't be called.

Pixel 6, 7 and 8 series has major network issues in my country. Not this same crap again! 🤦

By the time G4 will get to pixel 9a it will perform like SD 888 😆

Snapdragon 695 hater, 04 Sep 2024This is the problem right here. Yes there are gripes users ... more...Or Realme GT 6 like me.
This is better phone in every possible way then any of the Pixels.
Yes, Pro and Xl have better tele, but that is it.

Another google fail. Slow G4 now with even slower old modem. And it will cost more than top end hardware of last year from other manufacturers.

incoming price hike on the Pixel 9a as well for some bullsh*t reason.

Pixel 9 lags when you use it😏

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024Are you expecting them to put all of their good stuff insid... moreS23 that is 20 months old will be cheaper then this while in every specs is way better then this 9a.

All these Xa are the most stripped version of the series and they are no where close cheap. At max with the only good feature as OS updates i can think the top end price be 300 euro on what it offers.

That's perfect. But why are they using it on the Pros? 😜

when a series was better, google keeps making them worse every year, just drop the "a" model already and release a "e" model phone at 200-400.

Insane to keep the Tensor G4 while using a shittier modem. They should just keep the modem and use a G3, that could make much more sense.

Yes there are gripes users have with pixels including battery life and charging (get a Oneplus if this is your issue) but its the price which is the main problem.

The pixel 8a is a £500 phone and if you get it on discount you can get it for £420. However with the price increases with the 9 series the 9a will be £600 we'll be lucky to get it at £550!

These prices are not budget or midrange at all for what you're getting. You can get a Oneplus 12r for £500 and even though it might not have a better camera or software experience its bang for buck for what you're getting.
