There's the obvious thing of watching videos, but I would like it for music production - lots of apps (like Sunvox) are cluttered on small screens and a large screen would make using them more feasible. I could ditch my laptop when traveling and just carry this thing around. Is that a NEED? No, of course not - but it might be nice to be able to summon a 10" screen at will.
Durability is definitely a concern. I'm sure this thing will break a lot

Who needs a tri-foldable device? If the smaller ones have durability issues no matter the brand, I cant fanthom and wonder how this one will fare.
Seems to me more like a "Hey look at me!" moment than a well thought-out product.
And thats without checking its price or specs. 4 million in China is probably mostly bots for marketing purposes. I hardly doubt even 10k units will be made of this

If it were bot related though (let's run with that idea), why stop at a few million? The servers didn't go down so there was definitely room for more registrations.
The most likely explanation is that there is legitimate interest from a lot of people (the majority), some of whom (far fewer) might actually order one and some that will have registered for patriotic reasons.
There is no way Huawei has over a million of these ready to go though. However, if demand outstrips supply, that's a good sign as long as the demand can be met in a reasonable enough time.
No doubt some would-be iPhone users with money to burn may well jump on this release seeing as the new iPhones haven't moved the needle much. That might be (along with other folding options) a problem for Apple’s high end sales and the Mate 70 series is still to come. Another year of steep discounting for the iPhone?

Similar to Google's Tensor chipset, yet they're under restrictions. Definitely overpriced but clearly people are wanting it so fair play to them

Obviously the processor was going to be trash. Huawei is just showing of their technology. Its not meant for seriously selling them.
Honor will now bring this as Honor Magic XT Ultimate(or whatever the call it) next year with SD Gen 4. That will be for selling in international market.
