justasmile, 12 Sep 2024Yeah, really. Considering it's other great specs, the ... moreIt's not great, really. It's basically the same A15 but with some more tweaks that should've already been implemented with the A15 at first, like the thinner side bezels. But that notch is unbelievably ugly for some reason. The ones in the A15 is better and actually has some design language to it as the bezels came around all proportioned even for the chin. As to this however, there is almost 0 upgrades except for the newer Dimensity 6300 CPU, which would only make the 1330 useless in all aspects even if Samsung optimizes it.

That chin is so big that you could easily fit in a selfie cam and therefore make the display without holes just like Xiaomi did it with the Mi Mix 2/2s

r.why.me, 12 Sep 2024Exynos 1330 is not a bad SOC. It's about comparable to... moreThey will use e1330 only in more competitive markets and d6300 in other markets and it won't compete against d6300 phones in price segment where they will use e1330

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Seriously exynos1300? They already used on a14 5g.. it will... moreExynos 1330 is not a bad SOC. It's about comparable to the SD695/6s-Gen 3 and approaches the Exynos 1280 in the A25. It's okay for a device in this class. And it has a surprisingly good modem. Also, it actually manages to outdo the Dimensity 6300 on the CPU side, which makes it superior in day-to-day usage and performance. It is also comparable in energy efficiency, so battery life should be great, as is the case with the A14 5G Exynos 1330 version.

The only downside I can think of with the A16 would be the display. The AMOLED display in the A15 was low quality and has an inexcusably low PWM frequency. If they use the same panel in the A16, it could be a deal-breaker. Either they have to up the quality of the AMOLED display or go back to an IPS panel that won't destroy your eyes.
