Besides, if they have actually built the trifold device they showed in their video, they have already spent $$$ on R&D. So they could have just launched it at whatever price, just for bragging rights of being 2nd in the industry to launch trifolds. Even if they sold only 100 units Lol. 😂

          India launch?

Anonymous, 14 Sep 2024No HDR support on TECNO, no buy. Xiaomi has HDR display ... morePhantom v fold 2 has 10-bit panel and yet no hdr, while certain manufacturers push 8-bit panels even in their ultras, which means they do temporal dithering for their hdr support.

I owned the tecno phantom fold V 1st gen for a year, the both the screens went black in 13 months i.e. exactly one month after the warranty period was over.
The service centre said the folding mechanism was the culprit and it would cost Rs. 45000 to repair it. The comedy is the value of the phone has dropped to rs 55000 on Amazon from my purchase price of Rs.90000.
So, I wouldn't recommend these tecno fold phones.

Hats off of to Tecno, decent specs even beating the Z fold 6 for a fraction of the price.
Shame on Samsung ZFolds which had fallen from top to bottom heap as it cant even beat this budget brand outright in a number of areas, I really dunno what they have been doing last 3 years on the fold series, its a joke on them.
This is a decent fone for the price.

Reviews are already popping on respectable Youtube channels like Gizmochina and some youtubers from Nigeria.

Phantom V Fold2 stylus support seems almost on par with Samsung.
Phantom V Flip2 seems well balanced and there's no complains about it getting scorching hot.

Remember when they lied announcing Phantom V would be the first foldable below $1,000?

                      Yeah, trusty company.

Darth Caesium, 13 Sep 2024Literally the only problems with the Honor Magic V3 is the ... moreVivo can cut down on weight and thickness and I think they'd be better than Honor easily within next year/the next 2 years. Vivo's foldable is more balanced, has ultrasonic scanners, great battery and huge cameras. I respect Honor for making a thin phone but the Honor to me is more like an art piece considering its specs and thinness/lightness and the Vivo is just pure, raw power and usability.

The cons you mentioned are not an insignificant amount. Oh and don't forget, Honor's processing on the Magic V3 is not great, watch TechNick or TechTablets's videos. They go into it a bit more. The cameras on the Honor are good in terms of hardware but the software is just not up there. The videos are awful as well. Vivo is nearly on par with a normal bar flagship.

Release this to Indonesia, when the expensive Find N3 and X Fold3 Pro are sold here, Tecno can also try it.. this is the cheapest foldable.

Darth Caesium, 13 Sep 2024Literally the only problems with the Honor Magic V3 is the ... moreYeah that vivo with under display fingerprint sensor in foldable phones, one of a kind. I find the under display fingerprint sensors in phones really fascinating. But I know guys, it is normal for you 😅.

PepperPot, 13 Sep 2024Are my eyes decieving me?????? A Chinese manufacturer actu... moreTecno's strongest markets are, in descending order, Africa, the Middle East and India, hence why they developed their skin tone algorithm. This is why I'm not surprised that Tecno included a black person in their advert, but I am surprised that it took them this long to do it. It would be surprising for any other Chinese OEM to do it though.

Are my eyes decieving me?????? A Chinese manufacturer actually featured a person of color in their advertisement???? That's a bigger feat than Huawei's Ultra XT.

It must be due to their strong sales in Africa. Usually, we don't matter to them. Everyone else does including insects and animals.

PatrickCzech, 13 Sep 2024This is not about Tecno, but foldables in general. Yesterda... moreLiterally the only problems with the Honor Magic V3 is the low brightness of the inner screen (compared to the competition and compared to the outer screen), the lack of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (which tbf is still only being done on Vivo's foldables), the meh battery life, and the minor problems with the software. Everything else about it is just outstanding.

I genuinely don't think Honor has much that they can improve on with their foldables, just like Vivo, though the cameras will inevitably improve since there's still some room for improvement there.

This is not about Tecno, but foldables in general. Yesterday I visitited Alza Showroom in Prague and I have tried the Honor Magic V3 and damn. I myself am an Apple user, but not a sheep. And the Honor looks amazing I must say. The cover screen is great, normal acspect ratio, pretty good size and really thin. And the inside screen? Small, yet big. As a fan of iPad mini, it is just the right size. I also tried the Z Fold6. I like the square off design, but that is all. Z Fold feels pretty outdated compared to the Magic V3 or even the OnePlus Open.

At least the V Flip has better performance than the SD 7 Gen 1 or the Kirin 8000 (SD 778 tier processor)
