Anonym, 26 Jul 2013Apps aren't like potatos which are sold by the pound/Kg. It... morewp8 market already has almost all major apps except instagram, and i don't think that earlier iterations of windows on mobile had anything in common with wp8..wp8 supports native c++ code therefore it is obviously much easier to develope apps for wp8 compared to android.....dev support comes with market share, android had about 2000 apps after a year but that rocketed once android started selling more, devs just follow the market,wp8 has started getting it's market share and developers are very quickly adopting to a much easier developement of wp8,so android may be more popular right now,but it won't remain that for long unless google decides to do something innovative.....

laggdroids, 26 Jul 2013FYI, yes windows phone 8 are getting less dev support, coz ... moreApps aren't like potatos which are sold by the pound/Kg. It's all about a very simple question: Do you get the apps you want?
You are much more likely to find the major apps also available for Android than you are in WP.
You whine about W8 being to young. Well then, let us talk of all the Windows Mobile legacy (from Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7.x to date) and see if anything changes... Nope, still doesn't have proper dev support/traction in the market.

But please, do keep amusing us with your experience with WP (which does indeed invite you to throw it in the garbage at each major revision)..

Anonym, 26 Jul 2013What Android *users* know is that Android can work very wel... moreFYI, yes windows phone 8 are getting less dev support, coz its just a year old and since wp8 in a restricted OS compared to android. and with less dev support it has managed to cross the app bar limit to 170k apps in store. I had an android device from 2010-2012. the app count in 2010 in the then called android market was not even 150k even after 3 years of android launch???can you explain me why it took 3 years for android to cross a bar limit of 100k apps even though it was launched in 2007?????

laggdroids, 26 Jul 2013What android fans thinks in terms of stability is More RAM=... moreWhat Android *users* know is that Android can work very well (and stable) with 512MB of RAM. (I know that because I have one of such devices)
They also know that instead of paying Microsoft a steeper license price for the OS itself, they can spend that very same money in better hardware (better CPU, GPU and more RAM).
In the end of the day they get better hardware with a developing OS that get's all the apps. (better hardware always excites software developers)
WP users get cheaper and less powerful hardware, little dev support to create apps, all this in trade for the privilege of buying a proprietary OS.

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2013When I had android, half of the searches where just crap...... moreNewsflash: You are not mandated to install the apps you do not want or care. On the other hand, when you do want and care for an app you need it to be available for your platform if you want to install it.
So word of advise, unlike WP, Android users aren't used to counting the apps they do not care for anything... They are used to counting the apps they do care and always have available for their platform.
Let me exemplify: How is Tomtom for W8? Any good?
We could be here all day doing similar questions.

What android fans thinks in terms of stability is More RAM=Greater stablity.
WP8/iOS have more stability even in 512MB RAM whereas in android, good stability comes in a 1-2GB RAM. Best Stability in android is yet not defined!!!

and what's next, the uber smooth 4.4 and so son to 5 , 5.1 5.2 5.3 and the problem is why cant they just fit the update the older phone, example, when one phone have 4, why cant they update them all to 4.1 or 4.2, they are doing business really well, you have to buy a new phone to have that .1 .2 .3 .4?

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2013Nothing new here in Android 4.3 Jellybean, no major improve... moreYou don't know why your "Android phones takes pictures randomly, stores my location data in 10 kb in the file manager, and 2-3 MB of my data plan vanishes overnight even if the auto sync, background data is off all the time"? I give you an hint, it's a problem between the keyboard and the chair.
Good luck with *whatever*. That for sure won't solve your *real* problem.
