The Vivo x100 was 3,999rmb compared to 6,499rmb for the Xiaomi 14 ultra. The Vivo x100 was even 300rmb cheaper than the Xiaomi 14 base model, never mind the ultra. Massive price difference and the Vivo x200 is going to be priced similarly to the x100. It may be the same price but at the very max it will be 4,299rmb. The x200 will be cheaper than the Xiaomi 15 base model

Brighter aperture? The Vivo X100's tele camera has an f-number of f/2.57. But reviewers don't understand that the f-number only determines the amount of light per time per unit area of the sensor.
The important specification is the effective lens diameter= focal length/f-number, which determines the amount of light per time from an object and doesn't depend on the sensor size because a sensor doesn't gather light from an object, it only measures(!) the light. A small sensor + lens with a large effective diameter captures the same amount of light per time from a moon crater as a large sensor + lens with a large effective lens diameter. It's a common misunderstanding.

No smartphone tele camera on the market achieves the field of view solely by increasing the focal length. If that was the case, then every smartphone tele camera had the same sensor size as the main camera. A smaller sensor area (it doesn't matter whether it is a crop from a large sensor or a small sensor without a crop) leads to a smaller field of view. For example, the S23 Ultra's main camera has a focal length of 6.3mm, whereas the focal length of the "10x" periscope camera is only 27.2/6.3mm = 4.3 times as high.
Furthermore, optical zoom never(!) reduces the resolution and the S23 Ultra 's periscope camera only has 10 megapixel at 10x, hence you only get 9.25 times as many pixels per angle, not 10.0 times.
So as you can see, the term "optical" is just a marketing term and not a physical specification here.
