Weekly poll: the Tecno Phantom V Fold2 and V Flip2 are launching next week, do you want one?

22 September 2024
Tecno massively improved the build of the V Fold2 and it is now thinner and lighter - and dust resistant too. The V Flip2 has a much better cover display than the original.

Ouf, wont take a Tecno, not even as a gift. You wont get updates nor support if you need it (at least over here in europe). Battery seems awful in tests and besides Bloatware preinstalled, their UI just isnt what I seek. Force Closes shouldnt be a common.
Tecno just isnt there yet, so we will see how good they sell there foldables. I personally tried some foldables and always ended up hating them because of the plastic inner screen. I dont want a 1000€+ phone of which i can scratch the main sxreen with a fingernail...

        IP theft brand.

David 040882, 23 Sep 2024Advanced? There's nothing advanced here, especially si... moreFriend honestly its the same android like in every non apple phone.
The only difference is UI which aint big deal.
When comes to other specs the battery is bigger than in most other foldables and the price is also way better than competition.
To me sounds like a best deal on market but i am not interested in foldables.
Because regardless of brand the build quality and the fact that the main screen is first thing which breaks and it breaks fast foldables are no for me and no for many else people.

First company which makes the main screen of a foldable phone that survives JRE testing and mohs scale 7 pick and leaves no scratches on screen. In other words starts scratching at lv 7 with deeper groves at lv 8 i am in.

Right now only Vertu made such phones and noone of them is a foldable.
And their only foldable is flip to be exact Ironflip thats how it is called but main screen is still paper thin like every other brand.

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2024Tecno is releasing some very advanced and fine products.Advanced? There's nothing advanced here, especially since the V Fold2 is a rather small upgrade over its predecessor, keeping the same chipset and mostly the same cameras. Tecno's software is also quite behind the curve. So the only thing that could actually make someone buy either of these two is the lower pricing.

No, because their software is utter garbage

are fold phones worth it tho? as they wear and tear more faster, causing screen damage issues as time goes on? I'm sure it'll be improved as time goes on.

This V2 fold phone sucks in my opinion. It's still better that samsung or apple keep that design but they improve in terms of hardware. However fold v2, no hardware improvements, the os is also less than optimal, there is a gimmick anyway.

If I'm told to vote, I'm more interested in the V2 flip.

The Flip2 got my interest since it's much different than before. As for the Fold2, I'm not missing out from it.

Software support is one more thing before its ready to compete. And I wonder why they couldn't upgrade the V Flip2 to 8200, or keep the same chip at least.

If I was given a foldable I would use it. But buying one with actual money, nah. It won't survive 2 years.

                                  No.

                                  I want TWO!

If they would launch globally then I would be interested in Flip V2.

The book-style foldable is an amazing deal for the price. Even if I'd pick more expensive foldables, for the budget, this is one of the best-value phone this year and definitely the best-value book-style foldable phone. Definitely appreciate the Tecno Phantom V Fold2 heavily even if it's not aimed at my price range.

Add "Software Support' as an option.
