thanks! that's sad... if only it can give notification, i can use this in my wife phone. the built in imap client is quite pathetic IMO. already tried emoze and seven, but they are so slow (at least in SE W760).

just curious, in blackberry this apps support notification if there is new email in my inbox. Does the java version also support this? Because the old one didn't support this when I try to install the apps in SE.

Great work google ... Finally a e-mail client that actually works on my N91 ...

A small problem is that after logging in for 3 miuntes, it says "Username & Password" do not match and I have to type password again & again ...

Hope it will improve soon ...

Software solutions like this are very welcome and are contributing to eroding the boundaries between smartphones with customizable operating systems and feature java based devices. Installing software such as this gmail application and the excellent Opera Mini browser onto an inexpensive java mobile gives it far greater functionality than it was originally designed for. All phones will most likely be 'smart' (depending on one's definition) within 3 years.

Use of the built-in email client may be subscription-dependent. In my case, I can use it to receive mail but not send mail because the service is open only to postpaid subscribers and I'm on a prepaid plan.

Google Mobile is a boon for me. Now I can do email both ways.

Well, kind of stupid if you consider for a moment that most devices have a built-in email client anyway! I don't really like to put more software on my phone than I have to!
