i think this phone looks very nice i wish i had one because i have never had a phone that slides out u know its different i hope i get it

For that amount, you'll better be able to:
-Drag & drop custom alert sounds (Open/Close, IM, SMS, MMS, Call, and Email)
-Copy & paste
-Animated backgound (gif and video)
-Video ringtones
-Add AIM/Yahoo Messenger similar or better then Sidekicks
-Call Block list
-Add Dictionary
-NES/SNS/Sega Gen emulator
-Screen shot enabler
-Drag & Drop pictures and MMS them (Jpg and animated gif)
-Converter (Currency, weight, measurment, etc...)
And this would conclude me dream phone (Note: my iPhone can do 80% of the things mentioned above)!!!

It's selling for 1k in the US right now...that's a bit expensive for any phone. I'm a lover of SE but I thought spending $600 on my p1 was a lot.

The XPERIA is available to Sony Ericsson employees in mid November, roughly 2 weeks after that, it will be available to the rest of the United States most major Sony Style store locations and sonyericsson.com

no features watered down whatsoever.
ALSO, the insider confirmed that its been tested with the AT&T 3G and it works FLAWLESSLY. So we're able to make use of the secondary camera for Video Share feature on the AT&T Network, and soon enough after AT&T has HSDPA/UPA networks up and running, video conferencing will be available like the rest of the world.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 kicks asssss... X1 looks hott and it can do all the things htc pro or any other phones today can do and moreeee and its better looking... what more do you want... htc pro is ugly, n96too... xi is mannnn... i got noo works... just look at it... yeea the price iss up thr butt... its sony... you get the name and the product rock solid and SE is better in looks thn nokia, htc, samsung what have you... gotta get my hands on one asappp... give me some sites i can get it from guyss!!!

I just want to know some points
1) Does it have sunlight visibility ? Omnia is supposed to be very poor in sunlight visibility.
2) What about the stand by time and talk time in 2G mode with wifi and music and all other such stuff switched off? Many overlook these basic features without which any phone is useless. Since X1 has 1350 mAH I hope the battery life is good.Is it the same as what is stated in the specs ?

SE looks better on JAMES BOND than any other phones coz other phones are very plastic.SE is the best phone.for those hu cant afford it,dont complain,buy the other brand phones,yeah,thats why you guys keep typing ur bad comment bout SE coz u guys cant afford it.if ever u guys can afford it but u dnt like SE stop typing ur comments.stop adding comments it shows how u guys like SE.hehe

Just got mine and this phone is something else.
Teh build quality is like you only really get from SE, It's gorgeous tbh. not too sure about the camera, yet to take a really decent pic with it.
the screen is very, very clear. the touch operation is more responsive than i expected, better than the HTC diamond, diamond pro and Omnia (The other phones my company uses and I have played with) btu not slick like the iPhone.
For email and work, it's great. Very great, best WinMo device i have used. I'm having a little issue getting the browser(s) to work with wifi at the moment but this will just be my settings.
Comes with the same headphones as the Walkman series, the cut down fontopias, and they are really good.
did i mention the build quality? it's awesome, best i have EVER seen.
not tried Multimedia yet, waiting for my 16Gb microSD card to arrive.
Thsi phone feels so good, every workmate that has felt it has imediatly made their mind up over the phones mentioned above, this is a really slick bit of office kit with plenty of media features to boot.

To all people comparing this device to all with 16M colour; as it was written before, this is not because the display is outdated (which definitely is not as the resolution is much higher then on the n96) but it is becasue of the WM. In the praxis it doesn't mean it is worse as the resolution is anyway much effective then the gammut of colors.
Plus, please tell me who on this planet is able to see 16 milion colors? Humans eye is not able to see such differences and as far as I know all the 16m displays are built to be able to show so many colors, but did you asked your self also the question if the platform (symbian s60 for example) is able to produce and show so many tones????
Then to all the guys complaining about the megapixels in the camera, Hey the quality of the picture is not about the megapixels but about the sensor and lens. I am not sure if you can really speak about the sensor here in mobile devices. It would be a really a matter of discussions if the same sensors will be used as they are in the compact cameras. But they are not. Even these in cameras - the more mixels you will put on small size senzor, the worse image quality you will get in terms of digital noise at least. (statement of panasonic regarding the sensor and resolution in lx-3 camera). Ask anyone, who is photohrapher, and I am sure, they will confirm it.
And finally do not forget that WM 6.1 is in first raw a platform built for work , but is also fully capable to support multimedia.
The price is maybe bit high, but hey! Have a look at the device, materials used, design (matter of taste). And if the specs are old? Which exactly?
Please talk about these which matters in day to day use in real life not these on paper (touch interface of iPhone vs. omnia, diamond - matter of taste I would say and also a business man who needs heavy e-mail support including texting and writing e-mails I think will not go for iphone because of lack the hw qwerty keybord).

SE my type of phone anytime,anyday. X1 is a nice phone. The price is high. I suggest $500 dollas. Please, rethink on the price.

N96 got 16GB and this sh1t only got how many??
N96 got a nicer color -16M , this one got how many ??65K, oh god, 2004 year screen color

With WM,you have your multimedia+ your office+ all the programs you can put on it!
Symbian is good, but not that good!

X1 has loads of features and quite reasonably, it has a high price. its not rocket science.
but, i'm gonna wait and see how much the HTC Touch HD is AND see what nokia is up to cause i'm sure they will soon stun everyone with their touchscreen wonder...
ps, for all u complaining about the price, not a single one has said what they think the price 'should' be?!?!?!
