Each to their own, some people just want a working device that caters to their needs (in my case, base S23 was the most compact phone in my country aside from the iPhone)

Its a customer's money, let them decide what they are buying. Probably many of them if not all have a better job than yours (not just you, maybe mine too) and won't care about those specsheet. They just need a device they trust and focus on other things in life.

The choice is yours.

Anonymous, 5 hours agoThe reason for the decreasing battery is not the heat but t... moreReal reason is 5g on 4nm is still battery killer, Insane brightness, switch to 1.5k resolution and higher refresh rate. AI runs non stop in the background stealing your information if you don't disable all the permissions. Gps and location accuracy if kept on will also drain the battery.

PatrickCzech, 5 hours agoIf the phone is hot, the battery % going down really fast. ... moreThe reason for the decreasing battery is not the heat but the processor either working too much for no reason (software problem) or being inefficient (hardware problem). Heat is a side-effect not a cause.

It‘s like buying an EV and they don’t say the battery capacity (which does not say a lot when one does not know how heavy or aerodynamic the car is or what size it is or the efficiency of all the components) but instead they say the range which is much closer to the real usage. It‘s a UX decision, talk about the use case not about how it‘s achieved.

Why would you think thermal management has anything to do with battery life? If anything, it shortens battery life because the phone can sustain its max performance (and by that also max power consumption) for longer. It‘s like a car engine that can run at full throttle for longer before it overheats, but because it is capable of doing so, it will need more fuel in the same time than before. Weird that I have to explain this to the author of one of the biggest websites about smartphones

Imagine buying tech and not knowing the specs...
Like you go buy a car and the manufacturer doesn't tell you what motor, tires or equipment you get, they just say its X% better then last version...
I know I know, apple fans don't care about specs...then why buy the tech in the first place if you don't care?
