It will also be in 5 years a good device. Apple makes sure a iPhone will not last 5 years, we have learned that in the past.

I Just Read, 20 Sep 2024Posted below in another article So not on point just to ... moreBro nice words but as current flips or folds are single fold this is a dual fold device not a tripple fold device.
You have a big tablet after a first folding you get a smaller tablet and after second folding you get casual bar phone.
Where you going to fold it third time???
        To get a square slab???
        Dont make me laugh.

Huawei started shipping the Mate XT Ultimate units, just 10 days after unveiling the world's first tri-fold smartphone.

How many times i have to lecture you its a dual fold phone. It folds twice not thrice.
Folding once makes smaller tablet folding twice makes a bar phone where you going to fold third time???
            Please educate your self finaly.

Lister, 20 Sep 2024Someone is manipluating the pre orders information for this... morewith a price tag that starts at US$2,800 – more than twice the starting price of the comparable iPhone 16 Pro Max – and limited production, the tri-fold phone is likely to become more of a symbol of Huawei’s tech prowess than a major sales driver, analysts said.

“Production constraints and the high price point mean the new phone will likely not have a huge impact in terms of shipments,” said Mr Will Wong, a senior researcher at consultancy IDC.

“But it’s telling the consumers that it’s still the tech leader and the potential challenge it brings to Apple may be far beyond just market share.”

We used to call this paper launch. Device not physically available and bunch of promoted stories how there are huge amounts of online reservations etc. Yeah, right. Umtold millions wanting to waste 2800+ dollars on a screen that folds twice, after years of hardly anyone buying devices that fold once. This is rather sad, looks to me like some marketing deceit Realme would pull, I always thought Huawei was more reliable.

Someone is manipluating the pre orders information for this concept device.

This is going to be a really expensive phone considering the folds will only last a few years.

While I feel the technology is impressive, the price is too much currently for mass adoption regardless of "registered" interest.

So not on point just to aid comments
                          O.k
There seems to be GENUINE CONFUSION re this phone and it's name HUAWEI Mate X3

So let's break it down because the PRINTED word you can see analyse where as the SPOKEN word still is the same on repeating
Gsmarena has titled this Huawei Mate XT Ultimate tri-folding
Simply Tri as in THREE SCREENS
                          Folding as in it folds
Now 99% aha not a "triple hinge" but to give it's the correct name (Which didn't look leak to any tipster, so no benchmarks colours etc.)

Huawei Mate XT Ultimate tri screen- double hinge folding IPX8 sanction busting cellular communication device

Tri is separate to and not a description of the folding capability.
It is or for those still hung up best reversed
Folding & Tri (now better to see the 'omitted' words) we can in thought insert.
As is Tri fold makes sense so we accept as is

Well if you spend money on this at least you're getting cutting edge technology.

So that's my defence for steep price tag.

I don't think Huawei would make this phone in a huge batch. They'd make a batch in small quantities to see if people would buy one for real. So even though there were 6.5 million registrations, there's no guarantee all those 6.5 million people would pay full price. I definitely want one, but I totally doubt this would see a global release.
