ishreal, 23 Sep 2024funny that people said similar thislngs about touch screens... moreYou can have whatever feelings you want pal, means naff all to me 🤷
I’m not interest in folding phones, I have no use case I personally have for them and am not willing to pay extra for the compromises they bring, and that applies to who ever is making the dam things.

DaFink, 23 Sep 2024It goes without saying that you should just walk away from ... moreI do walk out when treated that way. It's usually at electronics stores. The best comment, at a Microsoft store I was asked which version of Windows I use. "That's old, bro. You can go to jail for using an old computer. It wasn't supposed to last as long as it did."

Anonymous, 22 Sep 2024Apple's sales tequniques work on some but, personally,... moreIt goes without saying that you should just walk away from any sales person using such methods. It’s not anything I have ever personally experienced in an Apple Store, where I have always found them fairly relaxed in their approach. I do laugh at them being called Geniuses mind, that is pretentious to say the least.

There is a very wrong video from Tony Northrup about the iPhone 16 Pro camera on Youtube. This post would be too long when I would explain everything what was wrong, so I only mention these two points:
1. It's supposed to be a video about the iPhone 16 Pro, but apparently he only has an iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has a different main camera than the 16 Pro (focal length 6.765mm whereas the 15 Pro Max has 6.86mm)
2. He compares the 48.8 megapixel output of the iPhone (15 Pro Max) with a 43.4 megapixel Sony camera and he makes a big scientific mistake:
He either used a too long focal length or a too short distance for the Sony camera. The test chart is approximately 38% larger in the Sony image. It uses a 38% larger percentage of the frame, this makes the 43.4 megapixel Sony camera behave like a 60 megapixel camera regarding the level of detail of the test chart and it also leads to 38% more light from the test chart.
Tony Northrup indicated in a comment that he decreased the distance because the horizontal field of view of the Sony was larger due to the different aspect ratio. This was a big mistake because when the diagonal field of view is the same, then the total(horizontal+vertical) field of view of a 3:2 camera is actually smaller because a 3:2 sensor has a smaller area than a 4:3 sensor, when the diagonal is the same. So one would have to increase(!) the distance a tiny bit for the 3:2 camera instead of decreasing the distance.
A 38% larger test chart in the Sony image is a big mistake.

I've went from a 15 pro max to a 16 pro,I like the smaller size yet it's not hard to adapt to the smaller screen, the camera button is not to my liking it's to hard to press and can make the photos blurry.Thats using a spigen case with a cutout. Its handy to quick launch the camera then use the on screen controls. The action button is still to high.I use it for the torch now.Nothing much has changed from the 15 pro max really, the animations are still to slow.Battery life is good even if not quite as good as the 15 pro max it's not far behind. The actual cameras don't seem much different.I do like the smaller size in hand and since when was a 6.3 inch screen not enough. If you have a 15 pro series you do not need to upgrade,I only did it as I kept dropping my 15 pro max trying to reach the action button to open the camera and scratched my camera lenses.Oh and the best colour the titanium blue is no longer available so I got the titanium black which is still rather nice.

DaFink, 22 Sep 2024Ha ha, touché 😂Apple's sales tequniques work on some but, personally, I am less inclined to buy something if the salesperson tries to shame me into it, insulting and mocking me. I experienced that at Circuit City, long gone, and Best Buy, I get it at T Mobile stores. At least they aren't called "geniuses". It isn't only Apple. I have never once been ridiculed for my phone in real life. Only once in real life did someone mention my phone, other than friends asking if it's reliable because they need to get a new one. A clerk in a non-electronic store asked where he could get it because he liked the shape. LG v20 that must have been about six years old at the time.

It seriously bothers you that Apple markets its products with a positive spin in order to build hype…..seriously?!?!?!
Well I hate to break it to you, but that’s kind of how the game gets played my naive little friend, Apple, just like any company wishing to remain in business will tend to say over the top nice stuff about their own stuff. So that means that when Apple introduces a new button, then you best know that according to them your life will only get better every time you press the dam thing. Again, rules of the game, tricks of the trade, marketing, hype, etc etc, Best get used to it would be my advice.
As for the ‘condescending attitude of some fanboys’….well aren’t condescending attitudes always annoying? 🤷😉
