Even if they released it, I would much rather get the vanilla Xiaomi 14 because of the compact size and flat display, but I don't have the money for it.

An example is the Oppo Reno12, which uses Dimensity 8250 in China, but Dimensity 7300 for global markets. The global version is $70 more expensive despite the inferior processor.

The worst example is the Oppo A3 Pro. The China version is a beautiful looking phone with a curved 1080p AMOLED display, is IP69 rated, comes with Dimensity 7050, UFS 3.1, Wi-Fi 6, and 67W charging. But the global Oppo A3 Pro is an entirely different phone with a 720p IPS LCD, is only rated for IP54, comes with Dimensity 6300, UFS 2.2, Wi-Fi 5, and only 45W charging.

I have no clue why Oppo is like this for international markets, it's like they're not even trying to compete anymore.

It gained variable focal aperture, but that's not enough to make up for it.

Xiaomi has its fair share of problems, but at least they have compelling phones in the lower-mid-range to the upper-mid-range market. Their Ultra flagships are also consistently amazing, though I personally don't think too highly of their regular flagships anymore because they downgraded them quite a lot.

zaryan, 24 Sep 2024i think after note 10 series they started going toward more... moreNah, I still think Xiaomi is miles better than both Oppo and Vivo. Oppo especially, because their latest "mid-range" offerings in my country are laughable at best.

Take the Oppo A3 Pro, a $265 phone that still uses a freaking 720p LCD (Yes, SEVEN TWENTY P), no ultrawide camera, no OIS, mono speaker, and no gyroscope. For just $20 more, you can get the Redmi Note 13 Pro, which uses a 1220p AMOLED, comes with an ultrawide camera, OIS, stereo speakers, and gyroscope. On Team Samsung, you've got the Galaxy A25, which again, comes with the same strengths as the Note 13 Pro, but for the same price as the Oppo A3 Pro.

Then there's the Oppo Reno12 F, a $351 phone with Dimensity 6300, UFS 2.2, no OIS, only 45W charging, and only a 1080p display. For the same price, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with Dimensity 7200, UFS 3.1, OIS, 120W charging and a 1220p display. Heck, even the Galaxy A55 is not too far off in price and has much better specs than the Reno12 F.

When a Chinese company makes worse phones than Samsung, that's really saying something.

Impressive features. I only hope they have fixed the microphone issues when the phone is picking up the side noises more than my voice on app calls and of course the camera fogging (condensation) issue as these were issued in every Xiaomi phone I bought so far, as well as I can see plenty of other reports of the same.

I think the Redmi Note 13 series was underwhelming, it was good in terms of being a product lineup in a vacuum but the pricing was weird for me, they should've been cheaper.

For example, to me, going for an A35 is better cus of the battery life.

Anyways, I agree, I saw it coming from the Note 10 series actually, it felt like Xiaomi was suddenly too serious about making the Redmi Note series some of the best out there but now, due to improved competition and higher prices, i think the Note series is mid. Hope the 14 series has all these goodies FOR THE SAME price. If the price increases then what was the point? Just make a new/different phone model lol

I'd love for the Redmi Note 14 Pro series to return to that. Considering the prices for the Note 13 Pro were very good for what it gave in return, I'd say the process already began last year. Last year's model had a very efficient and great quality screen, good storage and RAM, and a great 200MP main camera. Combined with this year's one's good quality 12MP ultrawide, its very efficient processor and the amazing new 6,200mAh battery using new silicon-carbon battery tech that powers it, this phone should be the king of mid-range phones. Assuming prices don't increase, of course.

The only downgrade from last year seems to be the reduction in charging speeds, as it now uses 90W instead of 120W. Ordinarily there wouldn't be much of an issue witht this, but remember that this is on a higher capacity battery too (6,200mAh vs. last year's 5,000mAh). Still, this is tolerable considering that there's a very healthy amount of upgrades.
