My 3Strix and 6D when I updated them to the latest Android versions got bootloop issues. They then after several months of usage got dead motherboard. I've never experienced this with redmagic devices.

RM Gamer, 30 Sep 2024Completely agree, updates are not much needed unless featur... moreAs a redmagic and zte user for years i can confirm your experience. Yeah, maybe they're not the fastest but there is almost none annoying bugs and stability issues after update let alone bricking the device.

Way back when I still had ROG phones, it has bugs whenever there's an update. And had my 5S brick because I updated to Android 12. Unlike my RedMagic devices when I switched, their updates are more stable and doesn't cause software issues as per my experience.

This is one of the most affordable tablets available now at $499 only with SD8Gen3 with in-air cooling ala laptops, plus a massive battery too.
Software updates of RedMagic: They're good at updates really, not too fast, not slow either, but short at 2-3 years. My RM7 still getting updated as of now. Still, Android can still be used for like 5+ years even without updates as App requirements as of now only requires your device to atleast have Android 5.0 above so no worries.

Great specs for the price, too bad it run android. If it use windows on ARM, I'll consider getting it.

Because that thing used to give way better search in 2014 than the current mess it is in right now. Only by adding reddit as keyword will give meaningful results.
Again, user error is more of a problem than lack of security updates. And as Android becomes more ios like every new year, more restrictions come in place. They wouldn't even let me mess with data and obb folders past Android 13.

I do, and in most cases because it's cheaper.
And in most cases I can just custom ROM it, because I'm not a lazy person.

Lack of Dex alternative is forgivable as this one is a tablet anyway and it's already wide enough.

Those can happen anytime, that's why Apple, Google and Samsung all have long software updates so customers don't get angry.
Resale value is also important, nobody wants to buy a phone that has no updates.

Hope ZTE release something that competes/matches the Lenovo Y700. I prefer the 8" something size as I can still put the tablet/phablet in my jeans. Oh, please include LTE so that it doubles as a phone or receiving OTP
