I'm sure the phone over all is probably going to be fine but I can't be the only one who thinks the camera's design is off. Without the bump, it sits at an awkward position and would probably look better if it was raised so that it's as far away from the top as it is from the side.

Looks like the Essential phone to be honest. Not bad for a comeback of that design. Phone was actually way ahead of it's time sadly.

                        Google Bezel 9a

Pixel 8 and 8a remain the best design from the camera visor era. Rounded sides puts them over the top.

Pixels are very good if you want great camera and simple interface. Bought 8a for my dad. Runs fine. Not rocket fast but not slow. As for myself I like Samsung more. Rocking s24+ now.

Arendator, 01 Oct 2024I drove the 7A for a couple of weeks, but returned it -- ... moreAdmittedly I've been using Pixels for four years now, but I just don't see what's "wrong" with the power button placement, unless we're using Apple as the benchmark for right and wrong all of the sudden. And even if it were "wrong" in some way, I'd prefer to go back to the rear power button/fingerprint sensor combo LG had back in the day. (Doesn't work with underscreen fingerprint sensors, but one can dream.) That just felt more intuitive then either a left or right side placement.

Arendator, 01 Oct 2024I drove the 7A for a couple of weeks, but returned it -- ... moreTo be fair I have been getting excellent battery life on my Pixel 9 Pro. which I was concerned with initially because it's a lot smaller. Got over where the power button was and volume buttons on day one.

The camera bump is ironed out.. i'm in!

Better get the regular Pixel 8 now, while it's still available and at a really good price (< $ 600 in EU). I keep having this feeling that 9a will still use GG3 and 18 W charging...

-- did not get used to the position of the power button -- same problem with all pixes
-- the battery life was weak, the screen is dark since trying to save the battery - not good
-- the screen is somewhat small
