Samsung "Galaxy Fold6 Special Edition" release date leaks

01 October 2024
The name is confusing.

Huawei got the pic. The other foldable manufacturers better step it up. Their only advantage is the battery, which is key to a slim foldable and Samsung is on course to release solid state batteries by 2026. Once that happens, everything changes from their phones to wearables. Solid state batteries have the highest energy density. A 4400 mah lithium battery will outperform a sodium battery of equal size like the one used in the Honor or the blue battery used in the Vivo. However, a solid state 4400 mah will outperform a lithium-ion battery of equal mah.

Simply put, hardware will no longer be an advantage and given all things equal, most people are going to buy the Z. It's also still the most proven durable foldable.

Wonder why they call it a special edition if there is nothing special in it.

We need normal edition to have specs like a special edition, considering it's price, or you may as well go to the next form factor (XR).

If anyone's confused as to why it's just called the "Galaxy Fold6", that's how Samsung calls it sometimes for some reason.

Go to a store and locate a Galaxy Z series demo unit. The Samsung demo reel just calls them "Galaxy Fold6" or "Galaxy Flip6"

The phone that should have launched globally instead of the wet fart we got in the Fold 6

Chinese foldables have very hard time leaving the homeland but, they have grown the local foldable market with xiaomi, oppo, vivo, oneplus, honor and huawei. fold6 is no more competitive there. fold6's strength comes from global availability and perfect android support. none of these give it an upper hand in China. That's why it is reasonable to have some mid-season upgrade, in order to get some more market share in China with inferior hardware. I think fold6se will be a testbed and glimpse of what will be delivered with fold7.

The decision to implement this step is quite surprising. A significant number of individuals have now purchased the standard Z Fold 6, and Samsung is now seeking to replace this device with a different foldable version. This is not acceptable from Samsung.

Not the first time seeing Samsung secretly release better phones only in their countries

It is not a matter of deserve or not deserve, we are not kids and we know there are factors that make samsung release a phone in a region and not release it in another region.

It is very a funny when an iphone user is angry because Samsung won't release a phone in his country when he is never planning to buy it.

Might be thin but won't be durable for sure. This is a foldable and also a samsung flagship device. Huge red flag there

We'll probably see these physical/hardware specs globally with the Fold 7, but given Samsung's current track record I'm not exactly 100% confident about this being the case at all

This is easily one of the most ridiculous and unnecessary smartphones of the year.
