Ibn Batuta, 05 Oct 2024Please elaborate "apple quality".Apple has the highest hardware quality of any other electronics company from pc’s, to earbuds, to smartphones, to tablets, to smartwatches, that’s kind of their thing.. you might not like it but that doesn’t change reality.

The glass is already so thin on Apple products it flexes like plastic when you press on it. You can even ripple the LCD beneath. They are obsessed with making things thin, look how bad the Butterfly keyboard was.

so, they're aiming to recreate the iphone 6s plus or whatever it was called.

Phones don't need to be thinner, they need to be smaller.

Then they buy an iPhone and call it premiumness when almost all phones with flat edges and metal rails feels exactly the same apart from the weight. they would never experience it but they shouldn't be that fast to blurt out something they don't know.

Lordvoldemor, 05 Oct 2024Having a good taste is a giftidk what you're on about but good taste itself if subjective, just like the "premium feel" that a phone has. What may be premium for you is annoying for others, for example some people like flat sides others hate it, some people like curved screens others hate it.

jiyen235, 05 Oct 2024i've held iphones and samsung flagships and both are b... moreAbsolutely! I have IP15PM and S24U both are same and no big difference in overall performance or functionalities. I have OnePlus 12 as well which looks far better than these two but OnePlus has some display issues after 3 years of heavy use. Other than that I do not see any big difference. Top end OnePlus 12 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB Storage is actually 50% less than Samsung S24U and iPhones.

How thin is thin enough? Paper thin, zero battery and bends from touch input?

Also, "not groundbreaking" is pretty much every other manufacturer these days.

Making the display thinner to fit a bigger battery is a good idea. But making the phone thinner is just stupid. Didn't Apple learn anything from bendgate? Even if the frame is titanium, it’s still susceptible to bending.

Nothing ground breaking. The form factor going to remain same with increased price points just giving lame excuses for thinner mobile with weak battery life and bendable frame. Apple can honestly try Foldable instead of bendable one!

Will TDDI shave off millimeters? Maybe a few tens of a millimeter. Assuming it works well, it will be a good improvement, but hardly groundbreaking.

More expensive? This is getting ridiculous. 15 pro max is my last iPhone.
