The Samsung Galaxy S25 rendered with One UI 7's new command center

A visualization that doesn't bring anything new, but stirs the imagination.

I tried to contact people working on OneUI to get them to hear my feedback but they never replied... I've got some great ideas that could bring quality of life improvements to hundreds of millions of lives. I'm disappointed in Samsung's incompetent software.

Apple on the other hand takes user feedback very seriously & they even reply to it. (during Beta phases)

Samsung should release a compact version of the Ultra as well with a 6.1-6.3” display. That would completely destroy Apple and the rest.

Well, that One UI 7's notification control looks familiar with certain companies, to be frank. Meanwhile, in contrast, the latest Xperia Home UI reverted its notification control/quick toggles to look just like the Xperia Z3's one from 2014 somehow, gradually. Interesting development on current Android ngl.

          Is that it?
UI 7 is a work in progress, however if you are Ice Universe and want this to run to February 2025 you can produce many 'stills' from Video of the S24 running UI7

            I'm glad they've put a volume slider.
Hopefully they will give us the option of reverting controls and notifications together.

Azu10157, 2 hours agoTouchWiz has infinitely more character than OneUI and iOSNot a surprise, regarding why I liked the UI of my Galaxy J3!
The lock screen effects look beautiful, compared to the boring sliding animation on newer Samsung phones. Same with the gestures, parallax wallpapers and shadows under icons and widgets on the home screen. There was the screen turn off animation that looked like sea waves or an old CRT TV, instead of the boring fade like Windows.

The closest thing that came close to TouchWiz was Stock Android 9-11. Looked aesthetically pleasing, and oozed a unique sense of character.

jiyen235, 2 hours ago"hardware proximity" wait they had that/abandone... moreWhat proves Samsung's lack of a hardware proximity sensor is that you'll have to long press the whole top area for the display to turn off. Unfortunately, the same happens on flagships, as I managed to get hold of 2 people's Galaxy S23 and S24 Ultra devices when placing a call.

Samsung devices use a virtual magnetometer, which depends completely on the accelerometer. It usually takes a while for the compass to set up, unlike the older devices that take less than 3 seconds to determine the orientation.

Also, you might be surprised to know that Samsung phones consistently use the front camera to take pictures and adapt the brightness accordingly. Usually this happens every 5 seconds or so (longer times on lower ends due to bottlenecks). Samsung introduced this for all phones starting from the Galaxy Note9. This was exposed by third party applications, not the service menu.

Parallax effect wallpapers are those wallpapers that show the wallpaper moving to each side when you tilt your phone. Apple had abandoned this from iOS 11, and Samsung followed suit.

You could make your own vibration alerts on older Samsung phones, similar to older Nokia phones and their composer applications. I didn't personally like the default vibration alerts, because Samsung phones have weak vibrators to my liking.

Older Samsung phones had "Super AMOLED displays" that had glass substrates, unlike their current displays, that notably have better viewing angles with a slight rainbow effect on whites. Current Samsung phones use pOLED displays with a plastic substrate (rebranded as Super AMOLED Plus) that have bluish whites when viewed from other angles.

There's the obvious weakness of Samsung's use of Li-Ion batteries, hence why they bloat and degrade after few years of use, unlike Si/C and Li-Po batteries.

I hope this explained my earlier comment well, btw.

wait they had that/abandoned it? Explains why iPhones have better lift to wake than my S22 Ultra. The moment i touch an iPhone it wakes up, for my samsung i have to lift it up in a certain way. I have to lift the top part to make the phone think im lifting it up and then it wakes up, i can't just lift it up and have it unlock lol it's pretty annoying.

"compass, barometer and ambient light sensors"
i don't think they abandoned these, samsung's light sensor for the auto brightness is pretty nice imo and the compass works quite well i think.

"glass substrate sAMOLED displays, parallax effect wallpapers"
idk what these are so can't comment lol

                        "custom vibration patterns"
i don't remember having that problem on my midrangers but i can't say for sure either but what i can say is that the flagships have some nice choices of vibrations to choose from so i don't mind not having custom made ones.

Anyways, I don't REALLY feel like the phones are getting slower through updates but battery is something that's worrying me. I mean the phone's getting slower yeah but the battery is more annoying lol oh and speaking of the S8, that phone had one of my most fav features of all time, the vibrating "fake home button" part! It was sooo satisfying to click the home button region and feel like there's still a button! Moving on from an S7 Edge wasn't as bad as i thought haha.

Looks 99% the same. They just added volume control next to brightness.
I'd rather they bring back the old style without these unnecessay large buttons.
Better yet, inovate properly and allow us to pull up the command center rather than pull down. And put the buttons on the bottom, make it one handed friendly

At the time of purchase, Samsung had abandoned the headphone jack, infrared port, MicroSD slot, Iris scanner, hardware proximity, compass, barometer and ambient light sensors, glass substrate sAMOLED displays, parallax effect wallpapers, custom vibration patterns, FM Radio and lockscreen effects on at least 90% of their phones, all while blatantly copying Apple and using their fans to defend their front.
Same scenario with their planned obsolescence of slowing down phones through updates in the typical Apple fashion, and the situation hasn't changed a single bit since the Galaxy S8.

I know touchwiz was slow and poorly optimized but I think the touchwiz from galaxy s7 era was pick samsung. I still have my galaxy j5 with android marshmallow and with the amoled screen the ui looks super clean and modern.
