09 October 2024
It's not really a surprising result, but the Apple Watch doesn't get anywhere near the top score.

I normally use the gadgets until the point the don't work anymore and then dispose them. In the rare cases in which they are damaged but somehow partially work, they go to 'the drawer' as a kind of last resort, but normally I keep pushing them until they don't turn on anymore.

And nowadays... well, I don't own my phone. I rented it, so I decided to outsource the problem directly to the manufacturer. For my smartwatch, in the extreme case I break the glass... well, trash bin it is. No visit to the shop.

when the battery finally dies, just get a new watch, that is what I'm gonna do

Apple watch is most robust tool apple designed, it get 12h of chef life a day , immersed in water 12's time a day. so my far my Ultra 2 gave me 19 months of Faithfull service without a problem.
Q: would i send to be fix no, i consider the product replaceable after 2 years of service
        A: would i buy another one ? 100% yes

it's tool by far the best extension to a phone if not replacement from day to day connective need

There are compact electronics like a phone which are pretty difficult, and then there are tiny smartwatches that have to be waterproof like this.. I am honestly surprised they aren't just potting them at this point!

Minimalism approach by Apple gains better profit seems.
Repairing sounds like having quality issue, bad for marketing.
Replacement sounds normal and not require high skill training, better peace of mind.

Normally, when a gadget breaks it is better to simply buy a new one. The tinier it is, most likely the repair will hold for a short period of time. I've waisted money trying to extend the life of several phones in the past. The only that lasted and I was not 100% satisfied was a Nokia 700 glass replacement that done by me.

Regarding smartwatches, is like to play operation with a fly (at least for the guy at the shop). I've got 5 smartwatches so far. 3 of them, just started to go crazy and after a couple of months... stopped working. Solution, replacement. Nowadays it turns out to be cheaper.

And this oddly moral of apple which is totally screwed about what they say vs what they do, is one sign of mental illness, which ends up reflecting on people who buy apple products, since they buy a product that is not honest neither follows up what they say.

Saying one thing and doing another is the first step to mental illnesses.

The "disappointing repairability" is by design, they want to force you to buy a new one if something breaks!

At the same time, they chatter about climate change and how we are responsible for the environment... We, not them, who are producing mega tones of waste, with intent!

Atleast this can be repaired to a certain degree unlike Pixel Watch.

That vibration motor is insane. No wonder Apple Watch battery life sucks when the battery is only like 70% of the capacity it could be.

Disappointing? Or expected? Apple Watch had the same basic architecture for 10 years now …

                          Say it with me: "NO".

just as previous models, nothing is replaceable, apple does not repair it either

This is the apple who talk about green world.
