For mobile flagship of company this "simplicity" is not acceptable. It is big difference between feature which you have and do not use and one you don't have and don't use. But let decision about using features on customers. Company as Microsoft should come with mature system, end of discussion. They will really appreciate your beta testing. Maybe you have som discount in Microsoft store for applications? :)

So, those looking to set a VPN, setting it like a mini HTPC, customize rooting the phone, etc... WP is not for you.

Tried Samsung Kies, but it wasn't as much comfortable as Nokia PC Suite so I just gave up. I was deciding which way to go after Samsung Exhibit, so I bought Lumia 521 to check WP. It failed in many ways. So now I'm satisfied owner of Sony Xperia ZL and keeping my Nokia 808 Pureview as second phone for pictures, videos, good sound calling and occasional chat and surfing. Still doing better job than any 1020 would do. Better pictures, better video, better sound, IMO chat available, best contrast screen for surfing on sun, better media player for kids in car, better media player on TV via HDMI

Store reps don't know what they are talking about... they are teenagers just looking for a part-time job most of the time. That is the one reason why iphone 5 is still doing well in sales despite the lack in hardware, they can't trick people outside the US from what it seems. The sony phone would be much better if their camera quality was a tad better with better post processing, and nokia is just being played around by windows right now.

I was very frustrated by OS. It is like for old people or small children which are barely self responsible. Everything is restricted, important functionality missing. Frustrating lack of application. And I'm not speaking about games or so, but communication apps. Chats, video. And as I know mobiles are about communication. I was frustrated when I found that I can not use Nokia PC Suite anymore which I used to install/uninstall apps, send/receive SMS/MMS from/to PC. Getting notifications about calls. You know how good is that if you have your phone in your pocket and it will automatically connect to PC Suite via Bluetooth and notify you on screen of your work PC that you have message or call? Many times I didn't feel vibration of my phone, just saw incoming call on screen of PC. This was supported on Symbian. But it is not on WP. There is terrible multitasking on WP. You never know if application is closed, stand by or active on background. This is unacceptable. There is no unified notification bar. Applications are showing notifications different ways.
WP is only fast, but missing a lot of functionality. If you are simple person and do you like to behave exactly as others want WP is maybe acceptable for you.
Currently WP is like startup trial pushed by Microsoft money. No background, history and uncertain future. Who want to be beta tester for some years, can buy it.

Samsung cheats its beloved fanbase by using fake benchmark numbers and tries to hide that its phones get heated up and thereby killing innocent fanboys with batteriess burning up and phones blasting and burning up houses and properties. But I think this is what Samsung Fanboys want. They want to promote wrong companies and kill their fanboy brothers and sisters by suggesting them wrong phones. Samsung Galaxy S4 exploded.

Argghh sick of you Android twonks going on about high powered spec..Quadcore on W8 or IOS is overkill or battery killer its not needed.GPU and RAM more important its Android that needs GHz's of power to make it operate.
Onto W8 i agree things are missing, apps and basic software and yes folk will be anxious about signing a contract for 2 years with an O/S they dont really know..
I wish Nokia has chose Meego as their Flagship its a powerfull computing O/S and kept Symbian midrange its perfectly capable still..
Someone said Nokia dont listen to their customers and they are right..Way back since the N95 came out i emailed along with many others what we wanted..Nokia ignored us and then took the stupid full touchscreen route..
I dont know why i bother writing but Nokia seem lost or dont know what they are doing.They are a good company just listen to your customers,i am only a few app away from going to W8 but them apps look very uncertain.

The Lumia 1020 is mainly for Photographers so before you go to the Store know what you want there are many choices also i wonder how is it in Europe Latin America Africa oh its not in in Jamaica as yet sometimes i wonder if these analyst think the US in the only place in the world

i'm not bashing lumia 1020, but too much fanboys who burn lot of hypes in this thing and turn out to be... mehhhh... nokia should make DLSR and dont make phone.
really dissapointed that 720 and 625 only with 512mb ram. nokia really cheap with ram. alot of wp8 apps that dont run with 512mb ram, i'm not talking about fluid UI or lag.
