For the first half of the year, it had around 7% market share. Last year it had around 6.5% market share for 9-10 million units shipped.

One interesting stat.. even though Apple wasn't Top-5 in terms of numbers of unit, it was #1 in terms of revenue last year, narrowly beating Samsung.

Note: Apart from the domestic sales, around 1 million units were imported (mostly Pro models as the price multiplier for Pro models in India is exorbitantly high).

The, 5 hours agoI like how Apple doesn't even show up in that chart li... moreWhile they didn't make the chart, they sale in quite good numbers. But that isn't any good thing.

iPhones are status symbols and obsessions in india. People have started getting the mindset that if they use iPhones they are a class above or that anything else is worthless. iPhones have the best everything. Android is junk.

But, not everyone can afford a brand new and shiny sealed box iPhone so the 2nd hand and 3rd hand market is huge for them which don't make a cut in this report.

If Xiaomi market share includes MI, Redmi and Poco, then Vivo should be aggregated with Iqoo, Oppo, Realme, Oneplus and Nord into BBK Electronics. Similarly Infinix, Tecno and Itel should be consolidated into Transsion Holdings. Samsung, Apple, Motorola, Nothing and Pixel should all be reported independently from others.

Nice to see greedy samsung is loosing the market.
Vivo is offering very much value for money products nowadays.

Heis, 11 hours agoWell, samsung went apple route (offering bare minimum for m... moreIt's just not all about specs. Offline vendors here are major Vivo supporters. They shill pretty hard for them. Some of the well sold Vivo phones use SD 4 gen 2 or 695, at 20-25K INR, same price at which poco sells x6 series, F6 and Nothing 2a. Besides, they all are decent looking and slim, which something samsung doesn't focuses on, all their phones are near above 8mm at these price ranges, there may be 1-2 exceptions

Will they add indian smell to the newest smartphones? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Because samsung gave up on most of low and mid range customers long ago. Now Samsung only caters to people who buy it for samsung name.
No competitiveness in specs. At all.

So it was gonna happen sooner or later

It seems that Samsung is slowly losing marketshare just about everywhere.
