iPhone's are routinely in the top 10 phones for cameras worldwide. Samsung is nowhere to be seen and they're only ever surpassed by a couple phones. They do not need to fix anything with their cameras but I would say yes to adding some features to the camera application like you'd get in ProCamera.

    LOL. I just got my 16ProMax -- and here we are -- rumors about the 17 series -- This is frustrating. Can we at least enjoy the 16 series for the coming months??? LOL

      If Apple "accidentally" got cooperated with Vivo's battery supplier and can put a 4200 mAh into this model, it is a sell for its slim form factor. Otherwise, I see no future for this thing, 120 Hz Plus model would be more practical. My friend's 15 Plus has a better battery life than my iQOO Neo 9 despite the smaller battery, and I would love to have 120 Hz on that iPhone.

        Until the iPhone Pro models have true high-res sensors, and their lenses are greatly improved against flare, and, unlike the ultrawide actually SHARP, Apple will continue to tread water rather than walk on it! They seem to fix their sights on the money. Their iPhone boxes- so small that many units are being damaged in transit, designed like the abandonment of the charger and leads and headphones, not merely to maximize profit but pack three times as many iPhones into the same space taken up by one superior old LG phone, or Nokia, disgrace the brand itself, which, like the lack of controls over exposure, white balance tone etc, now expects users to be so simple, so stupid they will put up with anything any android user would laugh out of court.
        I await the news that the 48MP sensors are all as big as the main cameras, that they are no longer quad-bayer, but genuinely of normal 48MP resolution instead of the real TWELVE megapixel, and that the panoramas are of 8K quality from all lenses.
        This last may seem un peu trop until you realize that a 12 or 13mm Ultrawide lens reduces the size onscreen of the image's magnification to well under half the size given you by the standard wide-angle main camera's lens, so you do in fact need above 4000 pixel height for a decently detailed sweep panorama.
        Recent communication with Apple informed me that the pixel height of pans varies so much they wont publish ANY figures for them, but they vary between 2332 and 4000, which is of course the long side of the 12MP sensor.
        So no, you dont get the quoted 48MP interpolated fake figure, and any in-camera zooming ruins the sharpness and the detail, even at 2x on the main sensors zoom range, a real pity.
        The next slim version isn't for you, they want to ship twice the phones in the same-sized shipping crate!

            People who want a thinner stylish phone at 1000 bucks are not the same people who want only 1 rear camera. I just don’t get it why they make it deliberately worse than need be. The high price should mean enough budget for an ultra wide lens.

              So, the "upgrade" on the 16 Plus has one less camera?

                There are no innovation from Apple for the past few years (4-6). Only thing that differentiate Apple and others are consistency. $300-$500 android phones are now a match for Iphone pros. Just for the consistency you pay triple amount!!

                              Better wait for the iPhone 18 slim, as I'm sure Apple will add an ultra wide camera for the 18 version. And maybe even 12GB of RAM. For the 17 series, best buy will be the 17 Pro models.
