I think there must be a typo in this. Like i think that cpu should be relevant even in 2035

Something need to drastically change for games in next 10 years that this be the thing but as long as they make playstations and the like consoles then the games can't evolve fast as the console be out for 5-7 years and all the games need to run on them smooth and they already are made like lower end of gaming laptop hardware so the masses can afford to buy them.

x86 architecture has hit the wall, they cannot get any significant performance leaps from the previous chip model without compromising stability and thermals like Intel has been doing for the 13th and 14th generation i-core processors. AMD should have started working on their own ARM chips instead of working an "alliance" with Intel for the innovation of the x86 platform.

notafanboy, 22 Oct 2024Agreed. I have a 5800X3D (5700X3D didn't exist at the ... moreMy plan also. AM4 has been such a refreshing game changer to the industry and is still going strong. Hope AM6 will follow suit since I find AM5 to be somewhat lackluster, especially considering the asinine price hike.

Arm is the present and the future, but prices where suppose to come down bc they were cheaper to make. So why are devices with arm just as high as if they had intel cpu.
X86 is also the future for a good long while, it's not ready to die just yet.

Bet the price will be insanely high or astonishing.
            That one of my fears.
Would love to see this paired with 256GB ram and few SSD disk each with at least 8TB storage.

delapenja, 22 Oct 2024ARM seems to be the futureIntel's Lunar lake x86 chips are not looking too bad though. And Intel, AMD and a few other entities are banding together for an x86 advisory group. I say x86 will stay strong

delapenja, 22 Oct 2024ARM seems to be the futureYes, ARM is the future.... in the future. RISC-V is even more FUTURE in even more future.

However, you and I live in the now.
