FF7, 2 hours agoA survey had 70% of people who currently own a foldable whe... morewhere is your source for that 70% stat? because anyone I've encountered, whether in person, on forums, on YouTube, or on these Android sites, that owns a foldable now says they will never return to a slab phone ever again (myself included). Foldables are an absolute game changer and you would never know how much they change your view of mobile computing until you've used one.

I don't expect fold to make enough cash, because flip form factor basically makes majority of the folding phone sales. any advancements will be handed to flip series, too.

A survey had 70% of people who currently own a foldable whether a flip or fold will move back to a regular slab for their next upgrade. The growth and interest of foldables has now waned.
So Michael Fisher (Mr. Mobile) pushed for something nobody ever wanted. When you watch SuperSaf ask other YouTubers what daily driver they carry, not many will say they carry a foldable. Majority still carry a regular slab like an iPhone Pro Max or Galaxy S Ultra.
I think the novelty finally wore off on foldables after 5 years. Not many can afford them and when they do own them, they realize they're overpriced and fragile. You have to spend a lot to get them fixed. I can imagine it will be the same for tri-folds and rollables.
There is really no point for phones to fold. We saw that with the iPhone 6 Plus. What do they really bring except be a different form factor? They're only asking to be broken. They add more weight and thickness.
I carry a Z Flip 3 and Razr 5G and I'm tired of needing to flip open the phone every time when I get an order from DoorDash. And I type a lot, it's not easy to do that even on the cover display of the Razr 50 Ultra. It was mostly a gimmick in the first place.
I enjoy watching Michael Fisher but almost every tech he supported never took off. He supported Windows Phone and it flopped. He supports foldables and it looks it will never take off because nobody wants to spend two grand on fragile devices.

No one asked? I have wanted a phone that can double up as a tablet since forever. The whole concept is amazingly useful to me, the only problem I have with current foldables are the cameras (and even then, the Vivo X Fold3 Pro's cameras aren't an issue, though a second periscope module would be welcome as I would like to have 5× zoom more than 3×), the lack of an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (again, solved by Vivo) and the lack of active stylus support on both screens (solved by Honor). If Vivo was to sell their next Pro foldable in the UK, I would gladly buy it.

I would prefer if Samsung could further improve their flip and fold before moving into other projects.

Yes I'm looking forward for a phone that can become into 3 pieces when separated and a single device when hooked to magnetic hinges, with a decent battery life 😀

Having 10 inch display with tri-fold is cool, but having that fragile folding display on the outside is such a huge NO NO. They break being inside, having it on the outside is terrible idea.

And this is the beginning of the end of foldables, a form factor nobody asked, everyone wants bigger batteries, faster chargers, better cameras, not tables as phones with tiny battery... who thought that foldables are the future they lie themselves, why? because they are not robust, because screen is paper and if u poke it it's dead, because the tech is not there yet, why pushing what doesn't work, just to sell more... no other reason... just for money...
