Smallworld, 6 hours agoI've read reports that the non-Pro models could embark... moreNo meaning got big battery if the battery management in HyperOS is bad, like really really bad. My 14T Pro 5000mah battery SOT is worse than my previous P40, which got way smaller battery.
I've got to tweak a bit in the settings, disable things here & there, disable RAM extender feature (which added by default, this is the main culprit), then things become a bit better.

Anonymous, 7 hours agoShorter range = cheaper module if sensor is same Yeah, all about the cost cutting. Most likely the same telephoto os the Redmi note 14 pro+ but just with OIS added

I've read reports that the non-Pro models could embark a 5,500mAh battery. That would be huge, the Xiaomi 13/14 already had a great battery life for their size.
But then idk how such a big battery would fit in there unless they use some new obscure tech.
Also the ultrasonic FP better be large.
The optical one that I tried on the 13 was very fast tbh and the always on display helped you locate it very easily. But I'd still prefer a large FP sensor that covers almost the entire width of the display. This way you can't mispress it.

Unless you care about someone stealing your phone and really wanting to get into your data, an optical FP reader is better than an ultrasonic one, at least when comparing my xiaomi 14 with the galaxy s23. The optical one is much faster and precise. The battery life and how unreliable the FP sensor was, made me return the s23. The xiaomi 14 is so much better its not even funny.

So they've cut the telephoto to 2.6x/2.5x (60mm). Probably the same one that's used on the Xiaomi 14t pro and Redmi note 14 pro+. That's a little disappointing. Seems to be trend this year to downgrade cameras in the base variant. It's like all the brands get together and make a collective decision to focus on exactly the same upgrades and downgrades
