It's somewhat based off the olde ITIL process methodology, but completely missing the point of the ITIL process. Companies do not keep older operating system versions because they're more stable, they keep them for longer because the ITIL process often takes years from initial software testing to production deployment. This, because the core business for a business is the software running on the computers, not the computers themselves.

By not interacting with it for a while - do you mean while it's on your wrist or after you left it on a desk or smth?
If it's on a desk it's likely tune itself down to preserve battery - so it's like a basic startup when you interact with it.
If it's on your wrist then that's... kinda unusual - it shouldn't lag or do this kinda stuff there - maybe your wrist wake up is off, then you may want to turn it on to keep the watch awake

My watch seems to have Wear OS 4.0 and One UI 5.0
In the specs it says it's upgradeble to Wear OS 5.0, but when i try to seach for a software update it tells me the watch is up to date - or is the Wear OS 5.0 upcoming too? If not, how can I upgrade it?

i have a bunch of these, huawei, samsung and 1 garmin.
they're all just sitting in a box gathering dust and here i am wearing this gbd-200 every day. it's not even a smartwatch but it's so lightweight, i don't sync it for months and yet it's down to the second and the battery lasts years.
meanwhile i powered up one of the others once, a huawei i think, battery it was almost depleted and i remember i charged them all when i put them in that box and it asks for connection to fix the time. trash.

Anonymous, 24 Oct 2024What about non beta users? Never tried any beta but waiting... moreJust playing..but used to be that the stable Android OS was the previous OS version. Meaning wear 4 is stable and wear 5 will be stable when wear 6 is released.
On a serious note, the way everything has gone since wear 3, this is probably needed for Samsung users. For the rest of us minus pixel 3 users, we all wonder if stuff will work once we have no choice but to update our devices..
Updates used to be the consequence of coding issues, now it's selling point to be highlighted.. Times, they are changing!

watch 4 is the worst device I used. With every update it gets worst. Just did a workout with it and it thinks my HR waws 161 while it was 102... Do not buy samsung
