Bagas Fabian Maulana, 26 Oct 2024Oh my god these people in this comment section... It's... moreYes, I do want a phone that tiny. That would be great, actually. LOL If only manufacturers offered those of us who wanted a phone smaller than 70mm wide a single crumb.

Also, why did you X my comment? Please point out a factual error in it. LMAO

jiyen235, 25 Oct 2024Yeah you referred to dimensions but you talked about samsun... moreRe-read the point that I've made to you twice now: I said that the X200 Pro mini isn't compact because it's larger than the vanilla Galaxy S or iPhone/iPhone Pro models, which also aren't compact.

I have a 12 mini got a Zenfone 10 because I disliked many aspects of iOS (how their banner notifications function and Apple's walled garden), but the iPhone mini is my preferred form factor. The Zenfone is barely workable one-handed, but I can make it work. A wider phone isn't an option, so these two are where I take my stand.

I would love to get the next Xperia 5, but Sony seemingly cancelled that range, too, so, as I said, there aren't any sub-70mm current or even future gen phones on the horizon, save for the Fold, and even that's likely to be over 70mm wide next generation.

I'd gladly put money down on a truly compact device in the future, but I'll talk with my money and principles for now, and not buy any phone wider than the Zenfone 10. I'm sure I'll eventually be forced to buy something bigger, but I find it ludicrous that manufacturers don't want to give a crumb to small phone enjoyers.

Will it ever leave China, though?

Oh my god these people in this comment section... It's called mini not because it's tthat "mini", but because it's smaller than the regular one. It's been a thing since N97 and N97 Mini or S series and S mini series for young people. Remember that Xperia 5, Zenfone 10/9/8, regular S, and iPhone non Max/Plus display sizes are considered big phones like 6-8 years ago. You want phone that mini? Just use that old N97 Mini, Galaxy pocket, and X10 Pro mini. Your tiny thumb will be very happy. Note this comment come from a guy that still using XZ2 compact as his secondary phone. It's even more compact tham phone that you people praise so much, but I won't complain the size of this phone. In fact I want because it's the only less than 6.4" phone that had 5700mah battery. your "mini/compact" brand phones won't have this big battery like 3-4 years later.

X200 Pro mini will be release in Europe ? When ?

mrleft, 25 Oct 2024I didn't mention the display size anywhere. I literall... moreYeah you referred to dimensions but you talked about samsung and apple phones, the last apple mini was made 2 years ago so it was a weird point and thus led me to believe you just took the size for what it is and not the dimensions.

and that's your opinion. Companies can call the 6.6" A55 a mini phone, it's all a marketing thing, it's not too difficult to grasp. Even then, the X200 Pro Mini is indeed a compact X200 Pro, it's not rocket science. I've used an S8, S8+, S7 Edge, S10 and tried an iPhone X, 11 Pro, 13 Pro and 14, so i have an idea of small phones and the iPhone 13 pro is perfectly small. The X200 Pro Mini is only taller, that's all, the width is essentially identical.

My bad, i didn't see it.

It's good that you bought them, tho i find it sus how you so quickly went from an iPhone 12 Mini to a Zenfone 10, iOS to android switch doesn't happen so fast but let's just give you the benefit of the doubt and say you did buy it. Why are you buying a new phone just 1-1.5 year into your purchase? You're already in a niche category and you're jumping fast. Also, manufacturers aren't changing the word, each one just has a different marketing term. For example the Oneplus 12 isn't a pro phone but it's a flagship through and through. The Find X6 Pro wasn't called an Ultra but it was superior to most Ultras. Not rocket science bro.

Anyways, as a solution, i can only tell you to either buy a flip phone, which is the best thing to do rn imo, OR get the next Xperia 5 phone. The best of all worlds is to just get a Vivo X200 Pro Mini or something and use the one handed mode, i think it's a great compromise. I haven't seen anyone complain about the 13 Pro or the S10's size but well here you are.

I didn't claim that the rest were compact did I? I specifically noted that they're smaller than the X200 Pro mini, yet are smaller than it. Any phone over 70mm wide has no right to claim it's "compact" or "mini."

I did mention the Zenfone. Maybe you should actually read my replies.

I did buy the iPhone mini and Zenfone 10. I'm complaining because I can't get a current generation phone which is actually compact or mini, and manufacturers are now trying to change the meaning of these words on top of it.

Man, all these people complaining about the "mini" name as if it violates some kind of industry regulation, lol.

Wait until you find out there's a product out there called "Mini" that's the size of a car!

mrleft, 25 Oct 2024The average thumb length is 64mm for women and 68mm for men... morethis is what happens when someone gets drawn into the display size instead of dimensions.

The iPhone 16 is 6.1" but bezels make it so that the width is 71.6 mm, the X200 Pro Mini is 71.8 mm. So this 0.2 mm difference is enough to make you change your mind? The 16 Pro and this have 0.3 mm difference in terms of width. So that makes you want to consider Apple? Jeez....

The difference between this and the S24 is 1.2mm, now that's significant and worthy of some concern. But you're just missing the point, the problem isn't the screen size, it's the width, the 5 V is the only phone worth talking about, it's tall and narrow, perfect for 1 handed use. The rest you just mentioned to act like this phone isn't compact at all, when it is somewhat compact. You forgot to mention the Zenfone 10, an actually compact phone.

Anyways, idk what you're complaining about either, you're saying you want a compact phone, but like why didn't you buy the phones you mentioned then? Why didn't YOU buy the iPhone Mini, the Xperia 5 V??? Instead of complaining on forums, if you voted with your wallet then maybe the market would've been different. Whining babies you are.

"mini" lmao what a joke. any vanilla Galaxy S, Z Fold, or vanilla iPhone is more compact than this, let alone Zenfones or Xperia 5s.

jiyen235, 25 Oct 2024and? Why did Asus and Apple stop selling those? Are they sc... moreThe average thumb length is 64mm for women and 68mm for men. A mini or compact phone should be small enough to use one-handed by most people. A 72mm wide phone isn't mini by any definition. Samsung and Apple both have vanilla phones smaller than this.

I'll buy a mini phone which is actually smaller than 70mm wide. Preferably significantly smaller than that. If I'm looking for the most compact phone, I'd clearly be getting a Samsung or Apple over this if I wanted a current gen phone, or an iPhone mini, Xperia 5, or Zenfone if I'm okay with a previous generation model.
