Android-Never-Again, 05 Nov 2024Lmao, you Andrones are all the same. It rejuvenates my brea... moreNo need to cope that hard dude. Everybody and their mom is aware that 512 GB should be the base storage in 2024, especially since the price difference is miniscule. Apple are milking it, it's okay to admit that buddy.

Have been using and deploying 256GB machines in corporate for a long time now. We still are, as we have ZERO users requiring larger drives. I worked in IT for a Blue-Chip company.
Take your faux-outrage over specs elsewhere and bleet it to other Andrones. No one with half a brain or more cares.

Android-Never-Again, 31 Oct 2024Just because you don't understand Apple's pricing... moreApple offer the 256 GB models so they can continue to sell overpriced storage space upgrades to their customers. If you think it isn't that way, you are lying to yourself.

xPandamon, 30 Oct 2024Great, one out of three or four devices is good. You still ... moreJust because you don't understand Apple's pricing model doesn't make it a boring presentation or announcement, big brain.
Apple offers the 256GB/16GB Mac Mini as an entry price - they want people on the higher-end models. The Entry model is discounted; that's been their MO for majority of their hardware. That way they can advertise a very low price (considering how incredibly powerful their silicon is) to get people into their ecosystem.
Their pricing structure has remained unchanged for 20 years - it's absolutely ludicrous that this still shocks you.
Go buy your crappy Windows bloatware-laden machine for the same price or lower and enjoy your few years of longevity. How do i know? I work in and own/use Windows machines.

Android-Never-Again, 30 Oct 2024New base Mac Mini is an absolute beast at $AUD999, go and c... moreGreat, one out of three or four devices is good. You still pretty much need to get 512 GB RAM if you want it to be remotely future proof. For the Mac Mini I can accept that since the base price is actually good, but for the iMac or the MacBooks, no. Way too expensive to still come with 256 GB, especially the MacBook Pro which is a straight up insult to their supposed MacBook Pro user base. Apple know that their storage prices are outrageous so they keep selling devices with insufficient storage space for a quick buck. Hell, they are banking on people saying that one storage upgrade is too expensive but another one quadruples their memory so why not get that instead? Scummy, so so scummy. OEMs pay single digit sums for the upgrade from 256 to 512 GB, so most offer 512 GB straight up. Not Apple.

if they double the memory for same price on all models including base ones then it would be better.

Not interested unless new M4 Air. M1 is still a beast for photography development but not so much for the video unfortunately. Would be happy to upgrade to M4. or alternatively, giving IpadOS more IOS functions could turn me to switching to ipad M4 pro.
