shouldn't you focus on performance optimizations instead of redesign now notifications got bigger (heavier) & less productive. if the promise of 6 years updates turn to cause more lagging it will be another scandal after Exynos in S-series please don't destroy the A-series. please

dt031sin, 29 Oct 2024Yes, horrendous and truly terrible for one hand use. It's because smartphone UI has not fundamentally changed since the original iPhones and Androids which was intended for small 3 to 4 inch screens.
Somebody should rethink mobile UI now. Maybe put the notifications on the homescreen in a scrollable "feed" or something.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2024Those notifications look truly horrible.Yes, horrendous and a nightmare for one hand use. I never check notifications on my iPad because it's not intuitive enough to go to a separate panel and check. I completely rely on app notification dots in Apple devices.
These companies are still adamant on implementing this worst notification/control center style from Apple instead of using their brains to create something more intuitive.

FF7, 28 Oct 2024Everyone in the mobile industry is failing to innovate in h... more"Maybe we would still have removable batteries, headphone jack, expandable storage, and chargers in boxes." 😢 but no matter how we complain, contact or change the company they are still doing it.

FF7, 28 Oct 2024Everyone in the mobile industry is failing to innovate in h... morewell said.
BTW, I've been using both Samsung and Chinese phones from Transsion for almost two years now as my primary and secondary phones
(it's my 1st Chinese phone. i used mostly Samsung phones since 2011).
and i must said, the chinese phones OS can't beat One UI.
even after a year, i still struggle with the Chinese OS, perhaps I've been too spoiled by One UI features for years.
ofcourse since it's Android, i finally manage to custom the OS and add some features, but still it's not comparable to One UI 'native' features.

london2tim, 28 Oct 2024How is this the biggest design change in Samsung UI history... moreEveryone in the mobile industry is failing to innovate in hardware and software. It's not only Samsung who has been the most innovative of the last 13 years or so.
2011: Brought back stylus
2019: Brought reverse charging and foldables
Bigger displays and OLEDs are now common today thanks to Samsung. The Galaxy S5 is the most complete phone they ever made: headphone jack, removable battery, microSD slot, water/dust resistance, and wireless charging. Then the Chinese followed Samsung using curved displays and making foldables. Samsung even made a phone with a pop-up camera like the Oppo Find X in 2018.
Samsung have better range than any company out there offering phones for all demographics. But since they're still popular and most people online want to throw rocks to act like contrarians, Samsung gets bashed. I bet if Samsung ever becomes as irrelevant as Nokia, BlackBerry, LG, and HTC in phones, more people will start to miss them. You will never miss them until they're gone. When they're still on top is when you want to bring them down.
I'm no Samsung apologist or fanboy, btw. But I've learned to appreciate what they've brought to the industry since 2010-2011. Even One UI is more robust with features than what stock Android has that Google will copy those features years later like the ability to limit the charge to 80-85% to make battery degradation slower. They had a great run of phones starting with the S3 in 2012.
I wish more companies followed Samsung instead of Apple. Maybe we would still have removable batteries, headphone jack, expandable storage, and chargers in boxes.

I credit Nothing and their OS as the main drivers for the sudden uptick in UI and widget design change now pushed by mobile manufacturers.

london2tim, 28 Oct 2024How is this the biggest design change in Samsung UI history... moreEither they are creating hype so that people ignore their change in update schedule or there are lot of changes under the hood. But I also have same feeling that this isn't a big change they have been claiming from long time 😅

How is this the biggest design change in Samsung UI history when everything looks the same - and the so called changes are some tiny ones
Im hoping these ''leaks'' are just fake news - and we are in for a treat in January when they launch S25 - if not - sammy can kiss my xxx - as it seems they're just yesterday news - not only they're failing to innovate on the hardware side but also software side

Trust me, this is just another "fantasy" from users, somente theme used not the real stuff.
I dont belive they mess up the battery icon and those curved cards/widgets so bad. No, this is just another conecept. Trust me.

Can't get my mind why icons are mentioned first and people are so focused on them. This brings nothing. First world problems.
