The worst phone company ever, especially the after-sales service, is literally a nightmare, especially the foldable phone. I had the worst experience in my life with them and it ended after more than a month and threatening to sue them, so they sent me a new phone because they don't have spare parts!!! It's a scandal for a company that sells an expensive phone and doesn't have spare parts!!

Screen durability, inferior display tech, will keep me from getting a fold device.

[deleted post]Oneplus are usually really generous with discounts and bundles. I'm on a OP12 so I imagine they will offer a really good trade in deal for it plus a few freebies too

These upgrades sound good, but hardware wasn't the Open's problem. It was the durability. 2-3 months following its release, there were reports of damaged panels that outpaced the Z4 and Pixel in a shorter time frame. To make matters worse, customers were waiting up to 2 months to get their phones back. That's where the improvements really need to be happen.
I would be curious to know if they switched to BOE. Logistically, getting panels from Samsung may have been a factor in the delayed repairs.

Me I really like and follow FOLDABLES.
Flips are of interest only for the similar technology but buying a flip, unlikely.
In one regard DCS leak specification may (WILL?) again prove wrong on this point.
'The Open 2 will unsurprisingly be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC."
FIND N* (usually December release except for early release N3 October 2023) didn't incorporate the latest flagship Qualcomm SoC which was available at launch (most likely cost? as not "required")
For Oppo a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be an upgrade, S8 Elite is an extremely expensive unwarranted upgrade (Samsung Z Fold 6 July 2024 S8 Gen 3)

As you can see Oppo ALREADY posted better benchmark than the Samsung Z Fold5 also Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

The only reason why I'm disappointed in modern flagships is that they have made compromises on the most anticipated hardware, over time.

So what I wanted from the next phone seems to have become surprisingly true lmao
same camera hardware but in a thinner and lighter body with a bigger battery. That's exactly what i was hoping for. Hope the cameras aren't downgraded or anything, since the UW cam is listed as a 50 MP one, it could be the 1/2" one like before or a 1/2.76" JN1/JN5
