It's because this year the camera island doesn't have the metal on the side that melts into the frame and it gives this very premium look (like it does in OP12). The OP13 camera island is just a circle like other Chinese models and apart from the OP logo and the Hasselblad logo there's not much to make it stand out. It looks good don't get me wrong but very plain and for that money I don't want something that just looks plain. The same goes for the S Ultras. They look plain and boring and are much too expensive to be looking like that.

Circle just wastes so much space, increases chances of breaking camera glass, one accident can render all the lens unusable unlike individual lenses and finally they don't know what design to put inside the huge circle glass, In OP12 they splatterd glitter and mentioned aperture of individual lenses which made it look ugly. Atleast they should do like honor magic v3 camera module in center and similar design.

            Im Good with IP68, a lot of scenarios where i work and travel in the Rain but i need to call my family or check the map on google map. that water resistance help me a Lot.

They are working on SSB's for EV's, mobiles and wearables. SSB's have an advantage because they have a higher energy density. Meaning a 5000mah SSB will outperform a 5000mah Li-on, but a 5000mah silicone or sodium battery will not. Has anyone noticed these manufacturers are increasing battery sizes in mobiles, but we don't see the same on their wearables? That's another benefit to SSB's. Not only can they pack more energy into a smaller space, they are also more flexible, allowing them to work in different applications.

              I've had 4 Z's. Three had the same 4400mah battery. I don't actually have problems with the duration, but I would rather have more than I need so I take nothing away from what these manufacturers are doing. They're using newer battery tech consumers can benefit from today, but SSB's are superior.

                                only one plus bizarrely supports wi fi 7 tri band and main thing is that it is under oppo and oppo phones doesn't have it..

                                  Xiaomi makes some of the most impressive hardware on the market, but there software and support is absolute trash. Whats more, now you can't even unlock the bootloader and get custom roms for their newer devices to get away from miui/hyperOS. They have completely killed the modding community that used to love their phones and have made them so restrictive. At this point I'd rather buy an iphone than a xiaomi if I had to choose.

                                    I hope they kept the hydro-ignore touch thingy tech they had in the OnePlus 12. I also hope that tech comes to every phone in the future.

                                      However, this phone will be more protected than most IP68 devices. It's not just marketing. Now, most people won't need IP69 but that is a different topic.

                                        OP is paying higher certification for marketing matter.
                                        People will think it is more protected than other if phone falls in the pool, sink or 🚽.

                                        The old sony z3 (2014) had glove mode option to make it easier to use with gloves, it also helped with wet screen.
