Not Again, 29 Oct 2024I don't know the rate but instead of 100% going to the... moreWierd, a friend of mine works for a bank (the netherlands, europe) and the only one paying transaction cost for apple pay or google pay (samsung pay is not supported here) is the bank itself, they provide it as a service for the customer because the percentage both google and apple ask are pretty low

Now that is not thw case with credicards (merchants pays) and maestro/vpay (much lower rate for the merchant to pay).

However maestro and vpay are getting phased out here, mastercard debit and visa debit is going to replace them, and those charges are lower than the creditcard ones, but still higher than maestro and vpay were.

A mobile terminal. Perfect for illegal business. Why the hell would someone use their phone to accept payments?

FarFan, 29 Oct 2024Is there a 30% commission too?I don't know the rate but instead of 100% going to the Credit / Debit Card (bank) provider Apple take a cut of the fee charged to the Merchant

If say you have a Visa Card and a friend has the same Visa card but linked via Apple pay Tap to pay. The same total charges apply to the merchant except the non Apple pay Visa receives the TOTAL amount, Apple a cut
The reason why small traders do not like them is cost small value item still carries a cost

Regulation mean that no extra charges can be applied to merchants who accept it https://www.gsmarena.com/apple_pay_is_going_to_compete_headon_with_samsung_pay_in_south_korea-news-57488.php

poopmaker699, 29 Oct 2024Does it work with regular plastic cards like Visa and Maste... moreYes it does, a while ago I was at a place where most sellers use portable terminals, and one of them had their iPhone as one.

All types of NFC payments work, so physical cards and smartphones.
