Canalys: Samsung just edged Apple in a growing Q3 smartphone market

This is the strongest Q3 market performance in three years.

So, in a year around 1 billion phones gets sold.
That's decent number for 8 billion people cause not everyone buys within a year.
I am thinking to start a factory to build phones.
Anybody want to invest and be a part of the journey?

Itvs because... moreBut you can still use any global variant of Chinese smartphones with Canadian carriers without hassle unlike their US counterparts where they can be blocked without notice through their IMEI even if they're compatible on paper with most of the bands of major carriers.

Itvs because ITU Region 2 (the Americas, and US/CAN in particular) use completely different frequencies than the rest of the world. Some like 2/4/66 are easy to implement, but others are harder and require different hardware, such as 12/13/14/17/71 and MMWave. So for lower margin brands without name recognition, it's just not worth it to enter the market. And some brands like OnePlus have managed to break in and find a niche for themselves.

                    I don't believe it's due to the delay of Apple's AI VS its total sales... it is because each year, Apple didn't give enough reason for its users to upgrade... I love iPhones.... BUT each year??? I can't think of any major upgrades...

Xiaomi fell to number 5 in 2022‐23 and people started making all these predictions about how Xiaomi will fell out of top 10 and even go bankrupt. Xiaomi have since recovered and showing no sign of slowing down.

Sorry but that Apple Intelligence and s16 model isnt enough globally for most of their users to upgrade. You may see a blip during the Q4 hokiday season but not likely more than that. Same time next year for Q3 possibly again for Q3 & Q5 2027 Aplle's Fiscal year (aka not Calendar year - as Apple's fiancial Q's are 1 yrar ahead of Calendar year)

People aren't gonna buy premium phones from Xiaomi no matter what. Value for money was what they were known for but now they have lost it. People aren't gonna put up with MIUI/HyperOS unoptimized OS at the prices being charged for them.
